It has been a busy week for them both. The day they had been waiting for came at long last.
As they walked in the villa. Jane looked with admiration. Everything was clean and in order. The big building didn’t go unnoticed. She thought her boyfriend had a big house but they could fit ten of them in this villa.
“ Your parents have a very beautiful home”. She said spinning around checking the beautiful views.
“ I’ll say thanks on their behalf. We can build our own in the future. Even bigger than this one” Edward said looking around the house he grew up in as well.
“ I was just admiring it. I never said anything about owning one like this. It a good one but I rather prefer smaller one because you can feel each other’s warmth.” She missed her parents and siblings. If only she could visit them.
“I kind of agree with you. I was lonely growing up. Most of the times I was under the care of nannies. Whenever my parents were around it felt different, but I wasn’t always lucky” Edward became sad remembering his childhood.
“ I’m sorry you felt that way. I’m sure they had there reasons for not being around.” Jane said holding Edwards hands.
“ Don’t be sorry. It’s all in the past. It helped me grow up to an independent person early. I have achieved a lot. Maybe if they were around I’ll still be under their wings.
I also made terrible choices and mistakes. If I had them guide me I could be a different person. But everything happens for a reason.” He did things to get his parents attention and ended up addicted to some of the habits.
He had a silver spoon in his mouth growing up but at the cost of his parents presence. He missed being taken to school by his parents like other kids. He wanted to go to amusement park, to the movies.. and vacations accompanied by one of them. It was on several occasions that got lucky to be with them.
The vacations were more of his parents business trips. He had nannies take him around as well. During his junior years his peers used to make fun of him thinking the old nanny was his mother.
Jane saw the change of mood and changed the topic to ease the tension.
“ Will I be lucky enough to see your room? Don’t say no please”. She pouted like a small kid.
“ you will. We might as well use it for fun. What do you think.” He said pressing himself closer to her in a seductive way.
“ Stop it. Your mum might see us and think we are misbehaving in his house.” Jane said looking around worried.
“ We are adults so she knows there is a high possibility we have already done the most intimate thing. Don’t tell me you are still shy about being sexually active”. He never cared about what others thought of him anyway.
She wanted to attack him but he raised his hands in surrender. “ Okay… have heard you. Can we go in now?” .
The servants bowed greeting them with respect and continuing with their work. The butler came in and welcomed them.
“where is my mum?” Edward asked looking around the living area.
“ She must be in the kitchen.” The butler answered.
“Its okay. Go back to your work. We will make ourselves comfortable.” Edward dismissed.
He turned to his girlfriend and gave a coy smile. “Please make yourself comfortable. I’ll go check on me mum.” He said smacking her buttocks.
“Ouch!” she yelped. “ can’t you behave for once? We are in your mother’s home for crying out loud”. He ignored her and slapped her again.
“Did you do ….?” She looked around for anything to attack him with. She took the cushion over the couch and threw it his was.
They messed the area with cushions. None of them wanted to retreat. Jane threw a cushion, missed her target and ended landing on Mrs. Blacks head. Her laughter stopped as soon as it came.
She trembled with fear eyes frozen open. Beards of sweat formed on her face. She looked over to Edward for help. He was busy getting a cushion to get back at her when silence ruled the room.
Edward followed her sight and a realization of what had happened dawned on him. Instead of getting shocked, he broke down with laughter clutching his stomach.
“ Mum……. Oh my…… mum….. sorry…. We didn’t see you coming….. oh my god …. This is so funny..!” he talked between laughter making Jane laugh.
Jane looked at her boyfriends silly reaction. She couldn’t help but laugh. She bit her lips closing her eyes to avoid laughing but to no avail. She ended up Laughing. She coughed with embarrassment down turning her head.
Mrs. Black looked at the too and shook her head. “ You’ve turned my house in to a war zone? Before I get to the dining I want to see you both there. Not before cleaning the mess you’ve created of course.” She turned around and walked away without another word.
She was so happy although she acted otherwise. She had never seen her son so happy and playful. He has always been aloof and unfriendly. He always wore serious and tough face. But today she saw a side of him she wished to see everyday.
Just like she had suspected. Jane was here and without a doubt she is the girl her son will introduce to her. She felt her eyes dilate.
She turned and looked at the two who were arguing. Her cheeks glowed with a broad smile.
“See what you’ve caused now!” Jane complained as they picked the cushions and fixed the couches.
“You started it.” He continued laughing. “I was just an accomplish. you needed to see your face, I thought you had seen a ghost.” He fell on the couch with laughter.
The servants had never seen their young master so free. They took glances at the girl who made him behave this way. They admired her for taming him.
“I hit your mother And that’s all you can say? I’ll run away and leave you here to vent her anger with you.” She thought of running away.
“Don’t worry. I know my mum, I can tell she wasn’t angry. Besides, that’s what she got for interrupting us.”
“As if you need an announcement to enter your house. Don’t forget she is in her house. She mocked.
“ She is waiting for us. If you don’t want to make her angry then you better hurry up.” Edward said fixing the last couch. He grabbed her hand and led her to the dining before she could debate with him further.
