Pier79 Coffee shop

She went home first for a quick shower and left again to meet Joshua at Pier79 Coffee Shop. She was late this time; her best friend was already there 15 minutes before their set up time but was calmly waiting for her. The ambiance change and Joshua felt that her best friend arrives as most of the men turn their heads towards the door. He knows that Maria is a complete head turner and it's not new to him. She approached him where his back is against hers and gave him a peck on the cheeks. Then sat next to him and lean her head on his muscular arm. This was being watched by Joshua Elliot who was sitting 2 tables away from them who seems not happy with it.

"Sorry Boxer, I am late. There was a slight accident along the way" She said to him with a childish smile while looking up at his face

"I heard, did you know your Boss is also here?" He asked her looking down her face

"Well, this is the place they mostly hangout too. How about that important thing you were saying in the morning. I am way excited to hear this good news!" She said still clinging to his arm

"Well, you remember this girl that I was telling you that I notice every time I go home every weekend?" He said then waves his hands to Sam to order coffee

"Uh huh with a smile in her face while looking at her best friend" She answered excitedly feeling that her best friend is giving her a hint that he'd like to start dating again.

"Well, I did get a chance to speak with her last Sunday. And we ended going out in the afternoon. We are not an item okay but I'd like you to meet her someday." He said

As she was so happy learning his best friend is trying the dating zone again, she throw herself at him. She hugged him and her best friend put his hands on her back. "Boxer, this is good news! I'd like to meet her too." She said

Sam put down their coffee in the table and chats for a while then left. While having their coffee she remembers the agreement and opened her phone and saw a message from her Boss "No. 5" with devil emoji. She replied, a smiley sticking her tongue out and press send. Then opened the gallery folder and show the image to her Best friend.

"You guys really put it in writing, huh?" Joshua said and laughs while staring at Maria who was busy nibbling almost all the cookies that he orders with the coffee.

"Uh huh, we did. Don't worry Boxer about me. I want you to enjoy your life too. You've always look after me." She said then looks at her best friend with puppy eyes. Joshua just pinch her cheeks

"You know how cute you are when you do that, thank you for that but I won't stop caring and protecting you no matter what even if in the future I'll have my own Family." He said which makes Maria blush.

After an hour, Joshua waves at Sam asking for their bill. After paying both stood up and talks for a while with Sam and gave him a huge tip. The Coffee shop starts to become busy which is a good thing, Joshua put his arms on her shoulder and both headed their way out of the Café. Occasionally, they would get stopped by some girls who like to have a picture or autograph with him while Maria stand patiently on his side. Because they're very close to each other people misinterpret and thought they're a couple which they both don't mind.

Meanwhile, Joshua watches the two people leaves the Coffee bar. His friends were just quietly observing him.

It was Ricky who broke the silence "That guy with Maria, is he pursuing her?" he asked chuckling.

"No, they're just best friends" He answered him

"Do you think, it's all friendship only? The way they touched and look at each other says something else" Thereon said to Joshua

His friends look at him trying to see his reaction. Thereon's observation gave him anxiety but he just ignored it. After all, he believes Joshua was just a best friend to her and if ever Joshua has special feelings for her, it's none of his business. But who is he kidding? he knows to himself that somehow he's kind of jealous as his feelings for her starting to grow.

"How about hitting a bar tonight? Nathan asked the guys

"Yeah, it's been a while. What do you think Joshua?" Matt said

"That's fine with me" Joshua answered him

"Great! Let's go then" Matt said

Meanwhile Joshua and Maria had dinner at the Asian cuisine where both enjoyed the buffet. As the night is still young, they stayed at her place. By 10:30 pm, Joshua notice that Maria had dozed off in the couch with her head resting on his shoulder. He woke her up to clean herself where she obediently follows him then tucked her in bed. Staring at her best friend for how many years he can't help but feel protective over her. "I will always be here for you, no matter what" He said to himself then kisses her forehead. When he was sure that Maria is soundly sleeping he left her room and locks the door before heading out the main door locking it as well. On his way home, he noticed Joshua Elliot and his friends going inside the popular Hub Bar. Thinking of Maria and what she said about their agreement and her Boss attempting to restrict her closeness with him. The hell! I don't spy but I will for my best friend he said to himself. He parked his car somewhere and went inside and found an empty seat at the bar. He was lucky enough to find a good spot, as from there he can easily see Joshua and his friends. The girls in the bar flock to him as they recognize him as a model, not to mention he has a billboard in the city half naked showing his toned body and abs. The last thing he needs was attention from girls as he has intention of coming in the bar, so he respectfully told them that he was waiting for his girlfriend who will arrive soon. Finally the girls gave him his needed space.

"Guys drinks on the house!" Thereon said to his friends

The bar was full pack, some girls are trying to get their attention but unsuccessful as everyone except Joshua is already in a committed relationship. At that time Joshua stood up to use the bathroom when a drunk girl whose been eyeing him for quite some time throw herself at him. The not so tall girl was in his arm, her face looking up at him while Joshua was looking down at her and suddenly let go of her which makes the woman fell on the floor. At that moment, Joshua Miller took a shot when the girl was in the arm of Joshua Elliot both looking at each other. He really doesn't care about girls around him, I've been here for almost an hour and he never even cast a glance at these girls around him. And that girl...Poor girl! He just let her fall on the ground. He thought to himself. But I still have to send this photo to Maria so she has something to use if he bluffed her.
