Okay, Let’s do it!

Next morning, Maria was awakened by the aroma of food being cook. She checked the time on her phone and saw its 9 am, she got up from her bed and went in the bathroom to freshen up and went out to check on Joshua who was already up and cooking breakfast.

“Morning Maria, hope you don’t mind me moving around in your kitchen, I am preparing us some breakfast.” He said to her with a smile

“Good Morning Mr. Elliot! It’s not necessary for you to cook, I can take over now.” She replied moving forward to him.

“Hey relax, I am better now. Thanks to you Doc! By the way how does having poached eggs, grilled chicken sausage, bacon, and fried rice with Turkish coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice sounds for breakfast” He proudly said to her smiling

“Delicious! Will it take time to cook?” She asked him excitedly

Joshua laughed at her and replied “I’ll be finish in less than 5 minutes, be patient Missy”

While waiting for the food, she sat quietly at the bar stool and looks at him. He must be like this to his Ex-girlfriends, if yes then lucky Exes. Joshua must have sense this, so he look back at her and leaned forward resting his two elbows on the counter as a support.

“Spacing out Missy? I don’t cook for my Ex?” He teased her

“Huh! Wasn’t thinking about that! But what made you think that’s what running in my mind?”

He just laughed and put the foods in their plates and handed her when his phone rings. She saw it’s his Mother calling.

“Morning Mother! Having breakfast now but after this I’ll pick up my car in the Company and be on my way there.” He said

“Okay Son, see you then” Her Mom replied then hung up

“I’ll drive you to the Company” She offered him while she continuously devouring her food without looking at him.

“Hey, slow down. You’ll get choke, here drink some orange juice. It’s okay, I’ll take a cab. I’ve cause too much trouble already” He replied while handing her the glass of orange juice.

“Sorry, I love eating. I love foods. And I’ll drive you and accompany you to your Parent’s house” She said

“Huh! What? Does it mean you are agree to be my girlfriend?” He asked her with a surprise look on his face.

“Unless you have someone else you’ve made overnight? And its ‘pretending –girlfriend’ only” She said then drink her orange juice straight.

He just laughed with her remarks and shakes his head in disbelief. “You think with my condition last night, I would have time to call girls and explain? Maria, I owe it to you…thank you!” He said

After breakfast, he went for a shower and same goes with Maria. While in the shower, he thought of discussing with her the plan and other concerns. As soon as he was done bathing, he saw his suit on the bed newly washed with new brief. She must have washed this last night. I have to do something in return for this lovely lady. Wonder why she is still single? She’s a perfect partner! He thought to himself. Meanwhile, Maria was putting on a white jumpsuit shorts and a pair of white slip-on sandals.  Although, this would be an Act only, she prefers that his Parents would see her at her simplest. So, she decided not put any makeup on her face instead a moisturizer with SPF-30, not even a lip gloss since her lips are naturally reddish. She let her hair down as it's still damp, and sprayed one of her favorite perfume St. DuPont. Then went out of the guest room with phone and wallet in her hands.

Joshua was already waiting in the living room, he was tongue tied when he saw her. Wow! Drop dead gorgeous! That’s all came to his mind upon seeing her. What a natural beauty! Even my Parents would fall in love with this woman. 'Joshua, remember...this is all an Act! Try not to fall!' he reminded himself.

“Are you okay Mr. Elliot” She asked him

“Maybe you should start calling me honey to get used to it” he said with a tease on his voice while looking at her.

“Sure Honey!” She replied sweetly and laughs

“Car key please, I’ll drive” He said

“Here you go” handing him the car key

As soon the lifts open, they went inside and Joshua put his arm around her shoulder.

On the lower level, the lifts open and a not-so old couple who knows Maria got in.

“Maria, long time no see. Is this your boyfriend? Such a handsome guy! The woman asked

“Good Morning, yes I am her boyfriend. Nice meeting you Mrs.…?” Joshua replied

“Cathy and this is my Husband Philip. Nice meeting you too! Such a good looking couple” the old woman replied while the Man just nods.

Reaching the ground floor, the couples said their goodbyes and went on their separate ways.

“Sorry had to reply in behalf of you, had to do that. I think we’re not just going to be pretending in the eyes of my Parents but to some people too” He said to her

“I guess you are right! I am glad you did reply in my behalf, I don’t know what to say anyways earlier.” She honestly replied
