Alpha Anthony Zahn’s POV
She appeared to have relaxed during dinner. I had initially thought she might feel uneasy, believing my business partner would be joining us, but that was just a small white lie I told her. I never planned to include any of my business partners tonight.
I wanted to be just me and her. I knew she wouldn't agree to a fancy dinner if she knew it was just the two of us so I hid it.
Throughout the meal, she ate quietly, avoiding eye contact whenever I tried to start a conversation. I couldn't help but notice the fatigue in her eyes. I made a mental note to ensure she got plenty of rest once we reached the hotel.
"It's a shame your business partner couldn't make it, Mr. Zahn," she remarked after finishing her dessert. "The food here was delightful."
