Matthew’s P.O.V
An involuntary smile spread across my facial features the second I opened my eyes and thought about her the next morning.
Anastasia, the girl who presented a line I was too afraid of crossing- wouldn’t leave my memory since the kiss we exchanged.
Not even for a second.
I dream about her. I recall her scent. The smoothness of her skin and softness of lips is something that is permanently etched in my memory too. Not to mention how sweet she tasted when her innocent lips moved with mine.
A beeping of my cell phone pulled me out of my reverie.
‘I’m boarding in ten minutes, Matt. Take care of my little girl, will ya?’ A text message from Jack read.
We had concluded the details last night. I had agreed to look after his daughter. Which is another thing that added to the complications in the whole thing as well as my guilty conscience.
She was off limits, I didn’t need telling to know this. But my goodness, how I wanted her- like I had never wanted anyone else before.
‘I will, champ. Get us that Dubai deal, and safe travels.’ I half heartedly typed a response and sent it.
The weight of the guilt seemed to be getting heavier and heavier in my chest.
Jack wouldn’t forgive me for making a move on his daughter.
Not to mention that the media would eat me alive too, if something scandalous like that were to come up. Anna wouldn’t survive the exposure to the viciousness of the vultures called journalists.
She didn’t deserve someone who would put her life on blast like that.
It hurt my very core to admit it; mostly due to jealousy, but she could do so much better than me. Probably be with someone her age too.
Not an old man like me, who was already thinking about things that are way too serious for girls her age.
I had to let her go. Or rather, the idea of her. Fully and completely. No matter how much it hurt.
Anastasia’s P.O.V
I went for my usual morning swim, after dad left.
Then came back into the house for a shower.
I got dressed in a flattering but not too revealing summer dress and awaited my babysitter.
My heart started violently pounding in my chest when I heard the ringing of the door bell.
Judging by how the security at the gate hadn’t bothered to announce the person’s arrival and identity before buzzing them in, I knew it was someone we knew very well. And my guess was correct, Matthew it was.
“Ooh, come on in.” I grinned up at him as I held the door open and stepped aside for him to walk through.
“A little early, am I?” He hesitantly asked.
“Not really,” I shook my head and chuckled. “My father made it very clear to me before he left that you’ll practically be moving in until his return. So as far as punctuality is concerned, I had been expecting your arrival since two hours ago.”
“Well, in that case, I’ll go make myself comfortable in his study.” He led the way to my father’s favorite room in the entire house, with his laptop bag in hand.
“If there’s anything you need, just shout.” I announced, trying to be helpful and accommodating.
“Sure thing,” he flashed me one of his enigmatic and charming smiles.
That made me instantly forget what it was exactly that I was supposed to do or even say next.
Matthew’s P.O.V
It was a relief to see that Anna was being easygoing and her usual charismatic self.
It made it easy for me to commit to sticking to my decision of staying away from her.
But also, I couldn’t help but notice another side to her.
If she wasn’t still sulking over what happened during the god damned kiss that changed my entire life overnight, it meant that she could be mature about things.
Which kind of made things seem possible in my head.
I couldn’t help it. I’m a hot blooded man, after all.
The curves of her body along with her mature approach to things, brought the earlier erotic thoughts back to the surface of my mind.
“I’m sure even CEO billionaires are allowed to take a break every now and then to grab a bite,” she smiled sweetly as she remarked from the doorway a few hours later.
As if she could hear me thinking about her, all the way from wherever she had been in the house.
“Yeah, true.” I nodded and chuckled.
“But usually not during work hours. Our businesses would collapse.” I joked and she laughed in response, but shook her head as well.
“I don’t think so,” she said. “Besides, it’s lunch hour already. So, come on Mister. I made food.”
“You did?” I was fascinated and quite shocked.
A privileged girl like her wasn’t someone I would have expected to know how to fix a plate.
But there she was, surprising me again.
“Of course I did,” she laughed at my surprised face. “Now get out of that chair and come join me, before I drag you out of it myself.”
“Yes, ma’am.” I playfully saluted and did as I was told. While muttering, “very bossy,” behind her back.
“You like it,” she flirtatiously remarked, as if she could read my mind. And the s****l tension began right after that.
Anastasia’s P.O.V
“So, what are your plans now that you’re done with high school?” Matt asked, without looking at me in the eye.
“It’s pretty much gap year, then college next year.” I responded with an averted gaze of my own.
Because one thing was clear, each time our eyes met, I blushed and he smirked.
Making me melt all the way to my toes, as well as blush scarlet. Which was a dead give away of the still strong feelings that I had for the man.
“How’s that going so far?” He fired his next question as he chewed.
“Not as exciting as I thought it would be,” I admitted.
My best and only friend, really, Belle, was on holiday with her family. Leaving me with no one else to hang out with. Let alone carry out all the plans that we made together.
“No more fun parties to go get smashed at?” He teased, and I looked away in embarrassment at the memory.
On the night we kissed, it was after he saved me from a party that I had gone to with Belle- right before she left.
After being misdirected; I had downed three cocktails, convinced that they were mocktails.
And the next thing I knew, the music was too loud for my sensitive ears and I had to step out of the hotel for some air.
Matthew rescued me right before some frat boys could hand me a cigarette to smoke.
After I begged him to not say a word about the party to my father, he took me right to his house.
And despite him leaving in a mansion almost as big as ours, he put me right in his bed- to sleep it off.
When I woke up the next morning, he had painkillers ready for me. Offered me fresh towels for a shower, so I could be decent before returning to my father. Who, until this day, thinks that I slept over at Belle’s place.
Upon freshening up, I found my way down his hallway and emerged right into the living room. Where he had set the table and had breakfast ready for us.
The gesture and being taken care of like that was so intimate and heart warming, to a point where I couldn’t help but see him in a different light.
He was uncle Matt for so long and I had a crush on him for years, but right then in that moment- it seemed like what I felt for the man was actually worth exploring.
“No, no more wild parties for me.” I finally said and blushed.
Knowing very well that he too must be thinking about how it was that one wild party that ignited the spark between us.
After we had breakfast that morning, I helped him clear the table.
Our hands touched for a split second, and sparks flew.
He shrugged it off, probably because it was something he had to do- being the adult in the situation and all.
But I couldn’t.
After he walked away from the table, I located him in the kitchen and hugged him from behind.
I still remember his shocked response. “Anna, what are you doing?”
The poor man turned around so quickly, a glass got knocked over to the floor.
“Showing my gratitude for what you’ve done for me,” I shyly said and looked up into his deep sea green eyes.
“You’re welcome, An,” he spoke with clear confusion in his eyes and voice.
“I’ve seen the way you look at me, Matt. It’s changed over the years,” I seductively mentioned that fact, with a confidence that I didn’t really feel.
“I’m not sure what you’re talking about, Anna. But if I’ve given you ideas in any way, then I’m so sorry.” He looked embarrassed.
“I actually like it,” I bit my bottom lip and moved my arms from around his waist to locking them behind his neck.
“Anna,” he breathed shakily.
“Just kiss me, Matt.” I commanded with a shaky voice of my own. “I know you want to,” I gave him motivation too.
Especially after I could feel the hardness of his manhood pushing against my flat belly.
And oh, how I loved knowing that he was aroused because of me.
He too knew in that moment that there was no way out.
He was busted.
Even a blind man would have been able to tell just how much he wanted me as well.
So, he gave in.
Grabbed me by the waist and sat me on the counter while at it too.
He claimed me, until my lips felt slightly bruised and I was left breathless.
“You’re thinking about it too, aren’t you?” I asked, when I saw him watching me studiously- from across our lunch table.
“It’s hard not to, baby girl.” he sighed deeply, then confessed. “Your lips against mine are all I’ve been thinking about lately.”
