Diana 's POV
I have struggled with my life, feeding from one street to another. No one was willing to take in a young pregnant girl. It was so bad.
And the money my aunt left me with had only fed me for three weeks. Since then, I have been begging to eat. Sometimes I went into a*****e and asked someone to get something for me.
Some people were sympathetic while most were not. Well, it's night now and I have to find a place where I can sleep tonight. The sky doesn't seem too clear and it may rain.
What to do? I kept walking and I walked into this estate that seemed like it was entirely different from the city I had been loitering in for eight months now.
As I walked further into the estate, I could only find big and beautiful houses there. Perhaps this was the home of the rich? The blinding bright light from the car that was approaching had me stunned for a few seconds and I could not move.
The car screeched to a stop before me. I was still stunned and the driver came out, yelling angrily at me. He roughly grabbed me and tossed me aside, I lost my balance.
I knew I was going to hit the ground, I could only wrap my hands around my baby and shut my eyes tight but I felt a pair of strong arms catch me.
He raised me and steadied me. I opened my eyes to thank him but I was interrupted by his voice, scolding the driver.
"What the hell is wrong with you? Can't you see she is pregnant? Huh? What if she lost the baby, do you know how much it would take to save her life?" He yelled. "Do you even know if she would live?"
He seemed pained about something, but it wasn't my problem now, I was only bothered about where to sleep.
He held my shoulder, turning me around carefully.
"Are you okay, miss?"
I stared for a few seconds before my brain registered the question. "Y...yes. Just um, slightly dazed."
He nodded and he raised his head to glare at the driver.
"Where are you heading to? Let's drop you off."
I moved back a little. "I... I don't have to stay."
"What? How can you be this heavily pregnant and not have a place to stay? What about your family? The father? No relatives?" He demanded.
I turned my face away from him. Should I begin to tell the story of how I was foolish enough to trust a stranger and he got me pregnant and still had the guts to reject me as his mate?
"I was sent away by my aunt because I was pregnant, the baby's father denied knowing me. My family... They're dead." I answered. My eyes filled with tears and I left his hold and resumed my loitering.
He ran after me. "Hey, come on. That's sad but I can't leave you here alone." He said.
"Are you ... Are you a werewolf too? You smell like one."
I nodded. "I am."
He smiled widely. "Then that's better. Let's take you to the pack house and give you a place for yourself. We can have the medicals take care of you..."
He kept listing the things he was going to do but I got lost because I was just happy I had finally found a place to stay. And it wasn't a place where I would be worried about showing who I truly was.
The silver ray pack accepted me with open arms. Everyone welcomed me and I felt like this was home. Raymond took me to the medical and they took a look at my health.
They instructed me on what to do and what to not do. After that, he took me to the place I was going to sleep. I had just taken a shower and was about to lie in bed when I felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen.
I yelped in pain. I felt the wetness spread down to my legs and I turned to check if it was blood. Was it water? Did I pee on myself? Raymond was there in no time. Once he saw my state, he became frightened and I saw how he shook.
I also became frightened. The pain was like never before. Rather than taking me to the medicals, he brought them to me. They began working on me immediately.
"What's the matter?" I asked softly. My entire energy was drained due to the pain I felt.
"You're about to put to birth. I'll need you to be calm, okay? Take steady breaths and when we give you the signal, you push."
I nodded. Push? How the hell was I supposed to push?
Three hours of excruciating pain later, I finally heard the cry of my baby. Oh, the joy I felt. But why wasn't it over? I still felt the same pain.
"Doctor..." I cried.
"Seems like you're having twins." She said, smiling.
"Twins?!"
How was I supposed to cater to them? I could barely take care of one child not to mention two.
The second child came out and the pain did not go away, nor did it reduce at all.
"Doctor....." I cried again.
"Sorry dear, there's one more to go." She said.
"How did I miss this?"
I wondered the same thing. The third child came out and then the pain left as if it was never there. Just the pain from the tears which wasn't as painful as childbearing, it rather felt more like ease than pain.
"Congratulations ma'am, you have birthed three children. We will clean them up, wrap them and bring them to you, okay?"
I nodded. I was happy at least. I had been bothered about how well my child would be birthed.
So even now, two years later, the journey still feels like yesterday. I'm only remembering this because it's time to pick them up from school.
They grow up so fast.
"Hello, I'm here for Alexis, Asher, and Arya," I said to their teacher.
"Who? But you came to pick them up earlier." She said.
My face fell and the smile disappeared. "Who came to what?"
"You picked them earlier... Look, you signed here."
I could feel a cold grip me and my heart froze, I fell to the floor.
"Tell me it's a joke, please," I whispered. How could my kids, all three of them, be missing?
