Chapter two - Better than the rest

2090 Words
Zach's POV: Hello, my name is Zach. I am eighteen years old. I had to switch my high school last year. All I will say is that my parents and I don't understand each other well. I do things that they don't like. It's typical for us. No one can make me change or stop doing what I do. This should be my decision. The new school is not that bad. I still find occupation there. When you are charming, girls walk after you. Not all of them. Nerds don't do it. Like every other school, this one has a golden student. Her name is Zoe. That's all I know. I have tried on her multiple times. She is a tough one. This doesn't mean I will give up. Once I get what I want, I will leave. It sounds simple, but it's not. We don't like each other. I still hang out with my old friends. They understand me better than everyone else. I have made some in the new school, but they aren't good. I have been with my old ones since middle school. I'm waiting for someone to host a party so I can see the nerd. She might not study that much, but everyone who does it is a nerd to me. Blame me if you want. I won't change my mind. She is not different than the rest. At least I don't see anything special about her. All I know is that she is the teacher's pet. I hope that I will get what I want quickly. I asked a few people for party invitations. No one gave me one. I wonder if someone will make one. I can do it, but my parents are always at home. There is no way they will let me have one. I can try to send them on a trip, but they will find out that something is going on. I'm not a good liar. No matter that, I have tried many times. It's not working for me. I asked my friends as well, but nothing. Their parents stay at home, too. There must be another way I can get to the nerd. No one says no to me. Currently, I'm in school. The teacher is talking, but I don't listen. I'm next to Katy. She is a good occupation. Well, everything is temporary. I don't date. There is no fun in that. You have to be with only one girl. My way is better. I can be with whoever I want. She is showing me pictures of herself. Katy is not the prettiest girl I have ever seen, but she is good. Also, she is an easy target. I can get her wrapped on my finger. After the class, I went to my locker. - Are you free tonight? We can go out if you want. I know a great place. - Katy said - I'm busy. - You always are. Who is she? - I didn't say it was a girl. - Who else can it be? - I have friends. They need me more than you. - Is there a girl in your friend's group? - Even if there had been, I wouldn't have told you. - Why? I can keep secrets. Will you tell me her name? - Katy. - Like me? - At least you are pretty. - Thanks. I did my makeup for you today. - I didn't make you. - Don't you like it? - I have seen better. - Like what? No one can beat me. - Many girls can. I am the irreplaceable one, not you. - Excuse me? - You are not excused. - You are terrible. - Thanks. - I'm leaving. I hope you will never get the same from her. - she said and left - Another one left. They are running faster than me when there is a discount in the food store. - Zoe said, chuckling - I thought you didn't want to talk with me. - True, but I like making fun of you. How is being on the other side? - I'm not offended. Also, she wasn't the best I have ever had. - Which was the best one? - Not you. - We never had anything. - Exactly. - Your mood is upside down. What happened? - Do you care? - No. I'm trying to be nice to you. You can take some lessons. - From you? No way. You are the last person who will lecture me. - I never said I would do it. I guess you haven't cleaned your ears. - Ha ha. Very funny. - You are no fun. - What do you mean? - I wanted to t*****e you, but you are not in the mood. - This means that you can leave me alone. - Are you ok? I'm serious this time. - I will never share my problems with you. - At least I tried. Have a nice day. This girl will be either the death of me or my life savior. I think it's the first one. There must be a way we can understand each other. It's not mission impossible. During lunch break, I went to eat. Some of my friends from this school came. I saw Zoe. She has to sit at the table next to mine. In her defense, it was the only free one. I guess she doesn't want any company. - Look. Your future girlfriend is here. - Kevin said - Shut up! She is right there. - Does this mean you will ask her out? - No way! I'm not crazy. - I saw you talking with her in the hall. - She started it, and the end was terrible. - Not everyone likes her, but she isn't that bad. She didn't do anything to you. - We are too different. Also, I have other problems now. - Like what? - My parents are driving me crazy. They want too much from me. - Every parent wants that. I don't pay much attention to mine. - Lucky you. I can't do that. They watch me like a hawk. - Zoe, are you ok? Did we upset you? - Kevin asked her - What? No, you didn't do anything. - Are you sure? I'm sorry if I offended you. - No, you didn't. I'm fine. - You can sit with us if you want. I'm sure Zach can handle it. - If you want a World War Three, I will do it. - she said, and he laughed - You two need to sit and talk. Fighting won't get you anywhere. - It's not like taking will. - I said - At least you can try. I will leave you. Don't screw it up. - Kevin said and left - So? - Don't try. Enjoy your lunch. I won't bother you. - she said and walked inside I feel like the chances of us understanding each other are not high. For the rest of the school day, we didn't talk. I left my things at home and went to see my old friends. They were waiting for me at the usual place. We went for drinks and afternoon snacks. I can invite them at home, but my parents will complain that I don't study. It's not like I care. I'm used to this. I pulled out my phone and saw a message. There might be a party soon. - What's the smile about? - Logan asked - I might go to a party. - Might or will? - It's not confirmed. - Why don't you make one? - I would love to, but it can't happen. My parents are always at home. - Make them go out. Your parties are the best. - Thanks, but what am I supposed to do? - Don't they have business trips? - I don't know. - Then give them a trip. - Jake said - You want me to spend money on them? No way. I don't have that much. - No one said that would be your money. - To see if I understood everything correctly. You want me to steal money from my parents and give them a trip. - Yes. - There is only one problem. They don't keep cash at home. Mom might be a broker, but she keeps her money on her card. How am I supposed to do it? - No clue. - Isn't this the girl from a few days ago? - Logan asked - Yes. Hey, Zoe. - Hey. - Are you ok? If it's about the lunch. - Not everything spins around you. - I know, but. - I have to go. - she said, took her drink and left - What happened at lunch? - Dylan asked - Kevin and I were talking, and she got upset. - What did you tell her? - Nothing. We were talking about my parents. The topic had nothing to do with her. - Maybe she got offended. - I have no idea, and I don't care. - Are you sure? She might not be in the mood, but you don't look happy either. - No comment, but it has nothing to do with her. I had dinner at home. Of course, my parents asked me about my day in school. I lied and told them everything was fine. Technically, I didn't do anything. It's not a big lie. Before they talked to me more, I walked out. This time, I was alone. Sometimes, I like doing it. I don't need to be with my friends all the time. I went to a park and sat down. That is when I saw her. I got up and went to another place. It didn't work. - I don't bite. You don't need to run away from me. I won't hurt you. - How can I be sure? You are following me everywhere. - I was in the park before you. Do you want to go for a walk? - With you? - Yes. - No. I prefer to die. - Why do you hate me so much? This is since you came to the school. - I don't like you. - So? This doesn't mean you can hate me. - What am I supposed to do then? - You can ignore me and don't talk to me. It's simple. - Where is the fun in that? I like bugging people. I see you don't wear the glasses. - I might have some, but it doesn't mean I use them all the time. I'm not blind, even if I wish I had been. - Why? - So I don't have to see your ugly face. - Ouch. Why did you hurt me, princess? - Sorry, not sorry. - Are you ok? You haven't been in the mood since the lunch break. - I will tell you only one thing. Appreciate what you have. - Why? Did you lose someone? - No, but you will regret it later. - I don't understand. Why are you telling me this? - Because you are one ungrateful teenage boy. - Are you better than me? - I don't argue with anyone. Neither make fun of them. - If people are the same, there won't be interest. - Interest in what? - The world. It won't be so colorful. - You think that people's personalities create more interest. - Don't you? - No. People should be themselves, not pretend. - You think I'm pretending, - I do. I believe the old Zach is a nice guy. - Think again. It's not true. - I don't think so. - Trust me. You have no idea what I'm capable of. - We'll never find out. How am I not supposed to be mad at her? Look at the way she is talking. At the same time, she is not wrong. I'm not pretending, but I could be nicer to everyone. Well, there is no fun in this. I don't understand why she cares about this. There is nothing wrong with me or the way I act. I haven't hurt anyone. Saying a bad word is nothing. Some people go to jail for a reason. The other thing is that she called my face ugly. I know she doesn't mean it, but I didn't enjoy the comment. She will regret messing with me, but it will be too late. I hope that she will deserve it.
