The boarding announcement blared over the airport speakers.
I laced my fingers through Mia's hand and walked step by step toward the boarding bridge.
Every part of my old life was finally behind me, a fresh new chapter was starting right then. From now on, I lived for no one but myself.
Mia picked up on the shift in my mood right away. She tilted her head up to look at me. "Mommy, I'll always be right here with you."
