Amelia followed them wordlessly to the Alpha's house. She dreaded seeing Xavier just yet. She wasn't mentally prepared.
The familiar brick-red mansion came into her view, and she wondered what to expect. She was accompanied like a criminal.
The door opened on cue, and she walked in.
Xavier was nowhere to be found, or so she thought. Footsteps alerted Amelia of the presence of a maid and she turned to see Cindy, a maid come out from the kitchen.
" Stand there. Alpha Xavier will be with you shortly." She said derisively as if Amelia was a speck of dirt under her shoe.
Amelia bristled inwardly, as she was made to stand for close to an hour. What was taking Xavier so long? She wondered. Her legs ached, and she longed to sleep some more.
