Chapter Eleven

1234 Words
**Erins POV** Walking toward Drews office, I steel myself to deal with the arrogant prick that is our Delta. The only reason he is the third is because of his daddy being the previous Delta and it passing down to him. His father was a great Delta, Daniel is the complete opposite. No one likes him. He creeps on all the females, is extremely short tempered with the Omegas and its running through the rumor mill that he is abusive to them. There is no evidence of course and no one has come forward, more than likely out of fear from the tongue lashing they could potentially receive from their Delta. Marney even tries avoiding any contact with him, her skin crawling whenever he is near and her gut yelling 'danger'. He has tried in the past to convince her to become his chosen mate, but after she nearly clawed his eyes out, he stopped, choosing to stare at her from afar like she is a piece of meat instead. We have tried to gather evidence against him, but he always knows when we are close, acting like a boy scout. He is a master manipulator and we all see it, but without evidence to dismiss him, our hands are tied. Opening the door, I step aside to let Selene in and as I turn to walk in, run right into her. She was frozen in her steps, stiff as a board, just staring at Daniel. Eyes huge with shock and laced with a bit of anger, her reaction to him is strange as she has never met him before, but it's good she's uneasy around him as well. The dude is a first class creep. She doesn't like him. Trey murmurs. I can see that. I agree. The question is, why? What has her so spooked by him? I honestly can't say. She hasn't gone through the luna ceremony, so we cannot communicate with her to find out. I hum my silent agreement with trey, watching over our girl carefully while glaring daggers at Daniel. It's no secret how I feel about him, so he just smirks at me and turns to Selene, extending his hand to her. I swallow a growl, seeing the look he gives her out of Andrews sight makes me sick. This f****r is going to be even more trouble now. "Pleasure to meet you." He chimes. "I am Daniel, the Delta of Blue Crystal. I am part of the reason the pack runs so smoothly." He grins and winks at Selene, earning a growl from Drew and myself. "She is Drews mate, dish*t." I dead pan. "Don't flirt with your future Luna." He chuckles it off and sarcastically apologized to Drew, earning a low growl from Selene at the disrespect towards her mate. It is interesting how quickly she has done a 180 where Drew is concerned, before shifting being all shy and reserved. Now she is protective and I'm sure if a stray female tries anything, possessive. The thing she doesn't realize yet is it will only get worse for both of them until they mark and mate, the Goddesses way to ensure the mate bond is sealed as quickly as possible. It can be challenging, males have flown into a fit of rage over the urge to mark their mate. "You can leave now." Andrew growls. "Go help run the pack, since you do that so smoothly." He quips, voice laced with sarcasm. Daniel scoffs and walks out, slamming the door behind him, earning an earth shaking growl from our Alpha. Selene, shocking both of us, makes a bee line for Drew, wrapping her arms around him tightly, growling 'mine' and rubbing her head against his chest. Drew secures her in her arms, placing his chin on her head and whispering reassuring words to her. Meeting my gaze, his eyes swim with love and joy over his mate marking him with her scent. This was the one thing he wanted more than anything in the world, to find his other half. I'm happy for him, truly I am but my heart aches over wanting what he now has. I have searched as he had but have come up empty handed every time. "I don't like him, Andrew." She says. "I cannot explain it but I get a very dark feeling from him. Im sorry, I know he is your Delta but something is off about him." She stares up at her mate, pleading with her eyes for him to understand. "It's all good, Sel." I pipe up, breaking their staring contest. "None of us like him. We just can't depose him with out proof. We have been trying, but he's good at covering his tracks." "Then if he is so bad, why did he get the Delta position?" She c***s her head at me. "He wasn't always that way." Drew begins. "He was his dads mini me for the longest time. Very patient and understanding with the pack but within the last year, there has been a shift with him. He has become much more short tempered, expects all who are lower than him to grovel at his feet and is constantly snapping at the Omegas, treating them like slaves. We have tried talking to him about it, his excuse is not having his mate to calm him but we know that's bull. I've brought it up to the council, but because of who his father was, we need solid proof." "Oh." She murmurs. "Well then, we will figure out how to get the proof, won't we?" She smirks. "No one, I repeat NO ONE messes with this pack and gets away with it." She growls, her eyes flitting gold. "There is my Luna." Drews voice thick with pride, causing a blush to creep up her face. I cannot help but agree with him. Once she completes the Luna ceremony and fully takes on the roll, she will be an amazing Luna. She already has a very loving nature and now with the help of her wolf, she is becoming fierce. She would die for this pack, I can feel it. "Speaking of being Luna." She chimes. "Erin mentioned something about a Luna ceremony? Not to rush things, but I feel a motherly protectiveness for the pack, all though I haven't been here long. If it's too soon, I understand but...... Could we start planning?" She looks hopeful at Andrew. Startled by her comment, he looks flabbergasted, staring at her. This should be interesting. "We could." He begins. "But there is one thing that would have to happen before hand, little mate." "What's that?" She asks innocently. "You and I would have to mark each other and complete the process that goes with that..." Drew pauses to let his words sink in. "We would have to give ourselves fully to each other, love. Are you absolutely sure you are ready for that?" He stares at her, trying to keep his eager wolf in check. I chuckle internally, knowing that if she is already fantasizing about him, that it would only have been a matter of time. He is just giving her the opportunity to voice what she was wanting. "Oh." She looks down, hiding her blush. Suddenly, she gives me a knowing look and turns back to Drew, nodding. "Yes." She states with conviction. "I'm ready."
