**Darrens POV**
It has been two weeks since my best source inside that retched pack was discovered, causing a huge set back to taking it over. Daniel is lucky that there is still a use for him, else I'd have killed him the moment he told me that he was disbanded and no longer able to step foot back on the territory. I have to get my hands on that little she-wolf, who's name I learned is Selene. Fitting for such a goddess of a woman to be named after THE Goddess. Fortunately, with help from a little dark witch I came across, I have come up with a new plan to obtain my woman.
Why again are we trusting a witch? Arken growls, pacing in my head. All wolves are naturally predispositioned to hating witches as they have been one of our greatest enemies since the first wolves fell from the Moon Goddesses kingdom, so his grouchy attitude is understandable but still irritating. If we didn't have this witch, we would be sitting ducks with our feathers up our a***s, trying to come up with another plan.
You know why. I growl back. We need her to trick our little pet into thinking her mate is in danger past the boarder. If she leaves, she is free meat for the taking and will be long gone before her mate even knows she is missing.
How are we going to keep her under our control, dipsh*t! She is strong, I can feel it. She will be a handful for that dumbass former Delta to handle.
Wolfsbane. I explain. And where Daniel is concerned, hopefully she kills him the moment he injects it in her system, cleaning up our little issue for us. I can feel his desire for her, he wants her but she is to be OURS! Rage bubbles slowly in my veins, angered at others wanting what is rightfully mine. It was already far enough that she has been marked and mated by another, something that was mine to do as I was the one who turned her. I owned her, body and soul, how dare another male touch her, claiming that the mate bond told them to be together. That was a crock of sh*t any way, mates just made you a weaker wolf, nothing good came from having a mate.
KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK! Speak of the devil, of course he shows up.
"Enter." I grunt. In waltzes the dipsh*t that is the source of my issues, grinning like a f*****g Cheshire Cat and my blood instantly boils. "What do you want?" I growl.
"I was wondering." He smirks. "When do we attack?"
"We DON'T!" I boom, causing the coward to flinch. "Your stunt of being discovered is our ruin. Do you know why?"
"Uh no."
"How the f**k did you become a Delta and not know what happens when a pack has a threat that is bigger than they can handle?" I roll my eyes at his idiocy. "The surrounding packs that are allies with the Blue Crystal pack will rally behind your now former Alpha, helping them to fight off what or who is a danger to them. There are at least three that I can think of, do you know what the actual number is?" I glare at him, hoping that he does because if he doesn't, I will kill him where he stands.
"There are five packs." He begins. "The Blood Crystal, the Moon Crystal, the Sun Crystal, the Fire Crystal and the Green Crystal packs. The first three have, not including pups and women, a thousand fighters each as you well know. The last two have only five hundred fighters, making the total that Andrew would gain twenty five hundred fighters." Well, I guess he gets to live another day.
"And this former Alpha has how many capable fighters?"
"Including the female warriors, he has fifteen hundred fighters, for a total of four thousand fighters once the allies arrive." He smirks at me. "We could stop the allies before they arrive? Fighting them off before they reach the territory and are able to aid the Blue crystal pack." My temper rages at the idiocy of this fool!
"WE CAN'T!" I boom, slamming my fists on my desk. "If we were to even try, the war would be over before it starts. We may have three thousand members, but only half of that are willing to die for me. The rest follow out of fear but would tuck tail and run as soon as a better option presents itself. We are HEAVILY outnumbered and you being discovered has handed our enemies the advantage they need."
"It's not my fau-" I punch him square in the jaw for daring to argue with me. How dare he try and plead his case when him being discovered was obviously his error. I warned him to be careful, explained that he needs to stay under Andrews thumb to make our original plan work and he goes and f**ks everything up the moment the council arrives. They are a bunch of old men, what is to be afraid of? He is weak and weakness will not do for my end goals. I really hope that Selene kills him. I have no issue doing it and I plan to eventually, I just don't want to play my hand quite yet.
Getting up in his ear, I growl lowly, baring my teeth at his throat.
"It was your fault. You ran like a coward the moment the council showed up, you messed up by not discovering the spies until it was too late, you didn't keep up with the act so no one would catch on. You are the failure, not me, not Brittany, you. She was right under your nose and Brittany still discovered her before you did. If you wouldn't think with your d**k and try touching what is mine, you wouldn't be in this f*****g mess! Get out before I slit your throat." He scurried out like the coward he is and I take my seat back at my desk, pinching the bridge of my nose. If this witch fell through, we were well and truly f****d. She was the trump card I was hoping I didn't have to play, but of course nothing is ever easy.
Just then, my phone begins to ring, startling me out of my thoughts.
"What?" I growl at the receiver.
"Now now, Alpha." A sultry voice purrs. "Is that any way to greet your only ally?"
"Daphnie, my dear witch." I sigh. "I apologize mistress, it has been a head ache of a day." Kissing a** is the best way to deal with a dark witch, they are the only other creature who is more temperamental than a wolf.
"It's okay, darling but just this once." Her voice drops. "So, how royally has this former Delta messed things up? I need to know so I can prepare properly for what we are about to embark on."
"Extremely. His former Alpha will more than likely be calling his allies very soon to prepare for war." I explain. "Two weeks ago was when they had the council meeting and Daniel was outed. I figure from past experience we have three months to prepare for what we want to do. I hope that is enough time for you."
"Oh my dear Alpha." She cackles. "You should see what I can do at the drop of a hat. My last question for you before I go to prepare, how painful, if your female fails to take care of it, do you want dear Daniels demise to be?"
"As painful as you can make it." I growl.
"Excellent."
