Elena That night, they all went to bed disappointed in Huncho. He was harsh and heartless with them. Damien didn't talk to anyone for the rest of the night. He went to his room and shut his door. No matter how many times they knocked on his door to talk to him, he ignored them. I kept wondering if he was thinking about leaving. But the next morning was even rougher to give any time to think about themselves. Sometimes circumstances force the one to get over his pride and act together to overcome the problem. That day was one of those days. I woke up to yelling for Huncho's voice and banging on his door. I quickly jumped off my bed and got out of my room to see what was happening. "Huncho, wake up!" Fred yelled as they all knocked on his door. He finally opened it. His hair was messy and his eyes were tired. "What is going on?" "Rio is gone!" Sanchez yelled. "The garage," Marco started, "we got a call from the SP garage," he tried to catch his breath. "Fox is attacking the garage, what do we do?" Huncho's tired eyes switched to alert, it was like his brain was able to quickly adapt to the circumstances. "What are you waiting for? Go," he sent them off, "If you see Fox there, don't hesitate to shoot his f*****g skull." He yelled at them as they ran down the stairs. He looked at me, noticing my presence in front of my room door then looked away. Seeing Huncho stressing was terrifying to me but I felt the urge to say anything to calm him down. "Everything will be okay. Don't worry." He looked at me again and didn't answer. He shook his head and walked downstairs. I wasn't sure what that meant but I knew he wasn't positive at all. I followed him downstairs. Hours passed and we still had no news. He was standing, silent and mysterious like always. I wasn't sure what was going on but I didn't ask for details. All I knew was that the pills they sell are in danger from this Fox. He didn't look like he would have the patience to explain to me even if I asked so I sat still on the couch behind him, watching him sip on his whiskey glass, balancing the ice, creating a melody hitting the glass, and looking out of the window with his other hand in his pocket. But all of a sudden, someone started to bang on the door, making both of us look at each other. "Open this God-damned door, Huncho! I know you are inside!" Someone yelled through the banging. "Damn it!" He yelled. He placed his glass on the table next to the window walked closer to me, grabbed my hand, and ran to his office. He walked us inside, locked the door then walked to the lab. He opened it, pushed me inside then followed me in and locked that door too. My heart was beating faster than it ever did. Even that far from the door, we could still hear the banging. "What is happening? Who is that?" I asked as he tried to gather all the tables of the lab, throwing all the pills on the floor, to shove them against the knob to make it harder to get to us. "It's Fox. He tricked me. I knew I shouldn't have sent all of them!" He hit the wall with his fist. He scanned the room, moving left and right, trying to think of a solution but he wasn't able to. His phone started ringing. He took it out and answered when he saw Damien's name on the screen. "Damien, he is here. Fox is here and he's not alone and I have Elena. Come as fast as you can." Right when he lowered his phone from his ear, we heard the front door break and I screamed. He ran to me, shushed me, and placed his hand on my mouth. His quick and heavy breath was hitting my forehead, "It's okay, you will be okay." He nodded, "I promised you!" He reminded me. I nodded too, trying to overcome my fear. He promised. He promised to keep me safe and he never broke this promise. He never did. He moved his hand from my mouth and for some magical reason, I wasn't scared anymore. Minutes passed and we both didn't move, not wanting them to know where we were. Something about his body heat sent peace to my own. I felt safe. The closer he was to me, the safer I felt. But they kept getting closer and the voices were getting louder and louder. Until the banging was on the lab door and the yelling was perfectly heard. They tried to break in but weren't able to. They were banging, calling Huncho, and telling him to show up. "Are you scared?" He whispered through the loud banging and the yelling, moving even closer to me so that our bodies were touching and our breaths were syncing. "No," I mumbled. "I am." For the first time, I felt like the Huncho, who nothing could scare, was terrified. His eyes looked straight into mine, refusing to break the gaze as if his fear had something to do with me. Maybe he was afraid something would happen to me, or maybe he was afraid because, for the first time, he cared for someone. I wasn't sure. "Yeah?" "Terrified." He shook his head and leaned closer to me. He closed his eyes and brushed his lips against my neck. His hands rested on each side of my face on the wall behind me. Then, his arms let go of their support and pulled me into his arms. Something about this hug scared me, it was too tight that I could hear his strong heartbeats against my ear. "Huncho! Come out! Man to man!" Fox banged louder, getting closer and closer to getting us. He pulled away and looked straight into my eyes. "Take this," Huncho whispered. I looked down and saw a gun in his hand. "But that's your—'' "Take it," He took my hand, placed the gun in it, and closed my hand on it. "And if something happens to me, run, as far away as you can. Travel even," he placed his hand on my chin, "And forget everything that happened here. Forget everyone," he paused and tilted his head, "forget me." I shook my head, and before I could say anything, he spoke again.
