"Huncho, I've been selling SP for ten years. You can't just say it's game over now." "The game ended when you decided to secretly mess up the drug that Brad worked hard on for over ten years," I said this with a serious voice and focused eyes, sharing news I'd kept to myself for a few days. "I won't let someone like you destroy everything." "I promised not to mix the drugs again." "It's too late. The reason you're still alive is because of those ten years you mentioned." He got up again, and I rolled my eyes. It felt like I was watching a fake and annoying show, and the character was really getting on my nerves. "I won't let you get away with this, Huncho. You know me, I'm a wolf." I scoffed, "The wolf is not smart. It won't attack its prey until it's sure no one will harm it while it's around." "Wrong. The wolf is deceitful and smart. It waits and waits and waits with its eyes fully open and ready for the perfect moment to attack the victim. It points out the victim's weakness, and without any hesitation, it attacks." I laughed and pointed at the big lion above my head. "If a lion and a wolf get into a fight, who do you think will win?" I locked eyes with Wolf with the biggest smirk on my face. "I don't think an animal like a wolf could be smart enough to even hurt a lion. And that's why the lion is the king of the jungle." I stood up. "Marco!" I yelled. "Marco!" Marco walked in, scanning Wolf from head to toe. "Take Wolf out and throw him his puppets on his way out," I said. Marco smirked and pulled Wolf's arm. "This isn't over, Huncho," Wolf turned to warn me. I walked closer to the door, watching him get dragged out. "I already wrote 'the end,' Wolf; you just refused to read it." Fred walked in as I made my way back to my chair. "Huncho," I hummed. "I don't think it's a good idea to mess with Wolf; not that we're weaker, but he has men. A lot of men." Marco and Damien walked in as soon as he finished his sentence. "I agree, Huncho. We are not a lot," Marco pointed his chin at Fred. "What's wrong with all of you?" I yelled, "This man is ruining our business! He is ruining what brings us food. He is messing up with our name. How come you are all scared now?" "Huncho, of course, we're not scared, you know! But there are limits to what we can do, just because we are not a lot. We don't have men. We don't have millions of people to defend us, you know," Fred explained with a low and calm tone, and it boiled my blood even more. "You are scared. We are not a lot, yes, but we are smart. We are not creating enemies; on the contrary, everyone is waiting for me to ask them for favours," I explained, with wide eyes and a banging heart, but they stayed silent and looked at each other. "If you are scared for your life, then it's better for you to quit." "Of course not, Huncho," Damien stepped closer, "we are just telling you that we might not be safe right now. You don't know how mad you made Wolf." "Yes, I do. And I'm ready for his comeback." A knock on the door cut through what Damien was going to say. When the door opened, Elena's eyes met mine. I stood up. "Huncho, can I talk to you?" She looked at me. She wasn't scared or hesitating. "Now, please." She insisted. I nodded and walked towards her, ignoring the whispers and giggles of the three men behind me. Right when I got close to her, she pulled me out and shut the door behind us. I raised my eyebrows. How can a young girl like her be so confident? How can a girl like her not fear me? How can a girl like her not even get shaken because of the whole situation that she just witnessed? Her eyes refused to break eye contact with us. She crossed her arms and scratched her nose. I almost laughed. "First, you put me in the hidden...behind the picture...room thing and didn't come back to get me out after your whole fight." I licked my lips to hide my smile and stood still and silent, amused by what I was witnessing. "Second, you didn't finish explaining the drug lab that I saw!" I couldn't help but let a small smile show on my lips. I looked away, then back at her. I couldn't keep my eyes away from this girl. "And third, you promised me that I was safe here. How am I supposed to feel safe here when all these things are happening?" Hearing her say this made my heart fall to my knees. I blinked, not knowing what I was feeling, why I was feeling like that, or why my heart reacted to this specific sentence like this, but I brushed it all off. I swallowed the gulp that blocked my throat. I paused for a few seconds, letting the silence fill the room. I took a step closer to her and said, "Aren't you safe?" "What?" "I promised your safety. And by far, you are." I scanned her body from head to toe, the back to her eyes, "perfectly fine." She blinks a couple of times, and her eyes search for anything else to focus on. Her breath was getting louder; I could hear it. I smiled. She was nervous. "And to respond to your first and second points, I haven't come and get you...yet. I told you to wait until I came and got you out." "Yeah, well, you told me a lot of things I didn't follow." She pushed her curl behind her ear, and her pupils moved to the corners of her eyes.
