A little later the boys called us to go eat. We put Vanessa in her stall and walked back inside to the dining table. I went to sit in my place next to Huncho. He grabbed himself a glass of whiskey before taking a seat in his place at the head of the table. I leaned closer to him, "You drink too much whiskey." He gave me a nod, "I got used to it." He chugged half of the glass in two seconds, swallowed, and let out a small huff. "Are you okay?" "Yeah," he answered without looking at me. "You look nervous." "I'm not, " he shook his head and took another sip, "I am just thinking." "About what?" He looked at me, and I shut up. I might be asking too much, but I was only trying to have a conversation with him. He softened his look on me and said, "We have a party tonight either it will go well or bad." I wanted to ask what party and what would make it go bad but I didn't want to trigger the cold look he gave me a few seconds ago again. I just nodded. "I will let everyone know that Fox is out of the equation and whoever will work with him will not have SP anymore," he gave me the information I was looking for. He took another sip of his drink as we watched the boys get in their seats, fill their plates, chat, and laugh together. "Elena," I looked at him, "I am telling you this for one reason. Whatever you do, do not get out of your room tonight." However, I don't do well with orders. Listening to the loud music and the loud talking was very appealing to drag me out of bed to look for a beautiful dress and get ready to go party with them downstairs. I knew Huncho would not take this well, but I knew that the longer I spent trying to look good, the easier it would be to convince him that no one would notice me because I blended well with the crowd. I got out of my room and locked it from the outside. It wasn't a frat party where people would go into rooms to have s*x, but I didn't feel like trusting gangs with my room open for some reason. I scanned everyone around. Everyone was older than I thought they were going to be. They were all my father's age or even older. Just a few of the people were young, but it was clear that the boys were the youngest in the room. When my eyes were searching for a hint of Huncho, I heard a spoon tapping glass. Everyone turned to look in the same direction as Huncho's voice filled the room. "I would like to say a few words, everyone." And there he stood, his eyes flying across the room like a dizzy bee. My eyes softened when I saw him in a black suit and white shirt under it and his hair was well done. "First of all, I want to thank every single one of you for coming tonight to the Brads' house. I hope you are enjoying well the beginning of the night. Second of all, I want to give a huge thanks to the Trojans for their protection. Without them, what happened to me would have been ten times worse. The last few days were hard on this house and what is coming won't be easy for all of us. So I wanted to just announce that I and Fox no longer work together." Chatters started in the room but Huncho didn't stop talking, "and with that being said, you all know that we can't mix people with ones we don't share business with. I hate playing this game of pick and choose but in situations like this, you have to," his flying eyes finally landed on me and the seriousness in them turned to coldness. His nostrils flared and his eyes didn't blink. At that moment, all I wanted to do was run back up to my room and pretend that I didn't step out. "I know I am putting you in a hard choice but you know you're always welcome to stay with me and I wouldn't hold it against you if your business is better with Fox but don't blame me for cutting my business with you. Cheers!" He raised his glass, making them all do so as well then when the attention was no longer on him, he placed his cup on the bar behind him and rushed towards me like an angry bull. The music started playing again and the voices got louder. He grabbed my upper arm and led me out of the crowd. "Didn't I say not to get out of your room today?" He hissed. "I wanted to see if you were a good host." I tried to turn it into a joke but he didn't buy it. "Go back to the room now." "Stop," I warned, "I won't do anything, I will just mind my own business and just watch." "It's not what you could, it's what can be done to you!" He whisperingly yelled. "No one will do anything. I blend well with everyone." "No, Elena you don't." "Why not?" He paused. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He looked around, trying to think of something to say. "You don't blend in with these people, Elena. You are way too clean to even be here." "Huncho," Damien called, "come meet the people." He looked at him then back at me. "Go, I will be fine," I assured him. He liped his bottom lip and looked deep into my eyes, "Elena, if anything happens, come find me. I won't be too far." "Huncho!" Damien called again. "Nothing is going to happen, Huncho, just go." I pushed him. I watched him walk away with Damien to a tall intimidating man with grey hair and a red suit but Huncho didn't look like he cared who that man was. He just shook his hand and started talking like he was one of his friends. Someone tapped my shoulder making me look away from Huncho and turn around. "You scared me, Fred." "What are you doing here?" He asked a warm smile on his lips and a glass of liquor in his hand. "I don't know," I shrugged, "I was bored in my room so I thought why not just go downstairs and join the party?" Fred laughed and shook his head. "You look good, red suits you well." He scanned my dress. "Thank you!" I tilted my head, "I have to say suits don't suit you at all, Fred." "Thank you!" He smiled and I laughed. "Fred!" Huncho called. "I will be right back." I nodded. I moved to the bar, thinking about what I should get. Something in my head kept telling me to give whiskey another chance since the last time I tried it I hated it. And I did pour myself a glass of whiskey. And I hated it.
