What on odds we will meet again

Dominic… Engineer Dominic hello? A voice woke him from staring for too long. A hand was an extended means of handshaking and greeting.

I am Engr. Jonathan Kwon and this our Chief Ar. Selene Jeon again. I assumed you already know each other? As the other one grabbed his hand to give a handshake, and a smile flashed into his face.

Ye…. Before Dominic was able to speak he was cut off and was caught up by the words said by the woman in front of him.

N-no, it was my very first seeing him since I don’t expose my identity to others time, only my team are the ones who know who I am working with. Btw again, I am Ar. Selene Jeon and I hope we can get along in Engr. Hong. A smile flashed into her face, extending its hand as she was giving a handshake to the guy in front of him. Out of space, Domini found himself handshaking the woman in front of him.

Selena…. You are Selena… you know me. I am Dominic Hong from Hyundai Senior High School. This is me. Selena… why…

So the team, along with Engr. Hong had already confirmed the plan that was given by the team builders and, as expected from one of the well-known architects and her team in our country, it was spectacularly amazing. The meeting started as they discussed the plan on how to make the Jeju Water resorts happen.

Actually, the credit must not be to me but to my team. They did their best at it. I’m just here guiding them. I have the best team I guest. As her team complains about how she complimented them, they were laughing and joking around already.

But kidding aside, we planned to have a site inspection every weekend for our team, so we are asking if the team builders will join us with this inspection? Caden continued the discussion for the next few days.

Actually, we have a round visit with our team, but Since Ar. Jeon doesn’t usually show up to this kind of meeting. She makes sure to show up every day on the site. Sometimes she goes there alone as she requested to be. But for Sundays, we don’t go on Sundays since it is our day off and we are asked to go to church or have a family day. You could say a day off for us. Jonathan answered, notifying the other team about their schedule.

She didn’t change at all. She still goes to church every Sunday, just like the first time we talked to each other. What at odds will we meet again here? Finally, we did after 10 years.

Dominic was still staring at the woman in front of him while listing details that were about her. A lot of thoughts ran into his mind, still staring at her as he wanted to approach and say hi or even talk to her alone, but he knew he couldn’t. Mainly, they are having a meeting and work. Secondly, he knew to himself that she would not talk to her outside the work place. He wronged her. He made the biggest mistake back then that ruined his chance of being with her. She was traumatized and he knew all he could do was to try.

Hours later, the meeting was finally over as the staff and both the team bid farewell to each other. Selene exited the door at a rush but in a polite manner.

You met him again…. You sure you want to continue showing up now? It’s possible that he will bump up with his friends in the near future… Jonathan faced Selene as he noticed how tense the woman was a while ago.

She is a calm person. Selene never showed her true emotions, maybe because of how constant emotions brought her by the experiences she got from the past, but as she hides her feelings and emotions only one person knows her well that could really tell what she really feels. She ain’t like an open book for everybody, a way of her defense mechanism, but for Jonathan, who has been by his side for almost a decade or not, it's been the past decade, he knows her very well.

I can't make Aunt Lee disappointed with me. She’s been a great help since then, you know that. All she asked was for me to cooperate this time. I know I’ve always been but she asked me to show up myself and let people know me. Isn’t it also great if I could face my fear this time? It’s not that I can hide forever. I-I probably just let it be. It’s just 6 months and then we are done. Selene held Jonathan’s hand and was caressing her to rest of the words she said to him. This is not an easy battle for her. Showing herself up to the whole world after hiding and facing the one she fears will never be easy for her, but she will try and she hopes everything will be fine.
