Chapter 7-Emily's Confession

1150 Words
Emily’s heart melted as she stepped out of the sleek black car, her eyes widening in disbelief at the sight before her. Gray's mansion stood like a palace drawn from the pages of a fairytale—grand, elegant, and breathtaking. Towering columns framed the entrance, soft golden lights spilling onto the marble steps, reflecting off the sleek finish of the luxury vehicles parked nearby. Gray appeared beside her, having opened the car door with a subtle gentlemanly grace. He watched her quietly, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he noticed her stunned silence. “You’re amazed,” he said, his voice calm and slightly amused. Emily turned to face him, her heart thudding erratically against her chest. “It’s... beyond anything I imagined,” she whispered. He reached for her hand, his touch warm and steady. “Come,” he said gently, taking her handbag and leading her toward the entrance. “Let’s go inside.” As they stepped into the house, the door closing behind them with a quiet click, Emily stood frozen, her eyes scanning the opulent interior. Emily’s POV I felt as though I’d stepped into another world—a world where wealth met taste and every corner sparkled with quiet magnificence. The lighting was soft and luxurious, reflecting off the polished floors. The furniture was modern yet regal, every piece curated with purpose. The color palette, a delicate blend of cream and gold, wrapped around me like a warm embrace. This isn’t just a house... this is paradise, I thought, taking another slow look around. “Emily.” I gasped softly, snapped out of my thoughts as Gray touched my hand. “Your house is... absolutely beautiful,” I said, almost breathlessly. He tilted his head, teasing. “House?” I blinked at him, momentarily confused, then smiled in realization. “I mean—your mansion. It’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen.” We laughed softly, our eyes locking, and for a moment, it felt like the world faded away. Still holding her hand, Gray guided her toward the staircase. Emily’s POV (continued) His bedroom was something out of a dream. I swallowed hard, trying not to act too starstruck. I caught him smiling again as we reached the top of the stairs. He’s enjoying this, I told myself, but I can’t let him see how overwhelmed I am. He placed my handbag on the bed and turned to face me. My heart pounded. I folded my arms across my chest in a weak attempt to compose myself. I’d never experienced anything like this—never been in the presence of such wealth, such intimacy, all wrapped in one man. Gray stepped closer, his hands resting gently on my waist. My breath caught. It was the first time a man had touched me like that—tenderly, protectively, with meaning. “Welcome, darling, to my home,” he said softly. I stared at him, eyes wide, heart open. Then, he laughed again and pulled me into a warm embrace. “I’m sorry,” he said. “For making the same mistake again.” I smiled into his chest. I felt... cherished. “There’s something I want to say,” I whispered. Gray looked down at me, his hands still resting on my waist. “I accept to be your fiancée,” I said, my heart hammering at my confession. I couldn’t hide my feelings anymore. “I love you, sweetheart.” His expression changed completely. I could see the vulnerability behind his calm mask. “I love you too, my angel,” he replied, voice raw with emotion. He pulled me tighter into his arms. “Promise me,” I whispered, “that you won’t break my heart.” He didn’t respond immediately. I felt the shift in his heart beat beneath my cheek. I waited. Gray’s POV Her words pierced me like a blade. She’s so genuine. So pure. Not like Lyra… I still felt tangled in Lyra’s charm—her body, her allure—but Emily... Emily was different. She felt real. And it terrified me how much I already needed her. “I…” I began, then paused. The words didn’t come easy. Just then, my phone buzzed. I kissed Emily’s forehead and gave her an apologetic smile as I answered the call. Emily’s POV I remained still, head resting against his chest as he took the call. I watched him from under my lashes—his smile, the way his eyes lit up when he talked. I sighed. But why didn’t he answer me? I wondered. He excused me and sat at the edge of the bed, speaking in low tones. It sounded like business. He was so focused, so driven. That’s one of the things I loved about him. He was handsome—no, striking—and he had this presence that was hard to resist. I knew I wasn’t the only woman drawn to him. But I also knew one thing for sure: I wanted to be the woman in his life. “Sweetheart.” His voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I blinked twice, then smiled and walked toward him. Without thinking, I climbed onto his lap, wrapping my arms around his shoulders. Gray looked up at me, surprised—and then he grinned. “I never knew you were this romantic,” he teased. I giggled softly. “I guess I needed to do something to get your attention,” I said, a little shyly. “I want you to be mine,” I whispered. “Only mine. I don’t want to share you with anyone else. I’ll stay faithful to you. But I need that same loyalty from you too.” He looked into my eyes. “I’ll always stand by your side, Emily.” He hesitated, then added, “I love you.” He cupped my waist and leaned in, capturing my lips with his. I melted into the kiss. …. The passion between them ignited quickly—too quickly to contain. Emily responded to his touch with a need she hadn’t realized she held inside. As Gray deepened the kiss, her breath hitched, soft moans slipping from her lips. She clung to him, her hands trembling against his arms. “Make love to me,” she whispered. “Don’t leave me tonight.” Gray hesitated, feeling her surrender. Her body was already warm and ready from the way he had touched her. He didn’t want to rush, but her pleading eyes made it impossible to turn away. With careful hands, he lifted her and placed her gently on the bed. They undressed each other slowly, savoring the anticipation. And in the softness of the candle-lit room, Gray made love to Emily—not out of lust, but out of something deeper he was only just beginning to understand.
