I'm standing in the foyer of our new house, which happens to be right up the road from Annie's and my best friends. We would never have been able to afford a house in this neighborhood if it hadn't been for Shawn's parents. We spent a lot of time between Shawn, James, and Gavin's homes while the trial was going on. Annie hated being in the city, not able to step outside and breathe in the fresh air while walking barefoot in the grass. Whenever we were here she seemed so much more at peace, so much more settled.
