  Zara's POV   "You always stay late after training?" Katrina's voice floated from the edge of the ring as I stretched out my sore arms.   I grinned, not even looking at her. "You always sneak up on people like a ghost?"   "Not a ghost," she laughed. "A shadow. There's a difference."   "Well, unless that shadow wants to spar, I'm calling it a night." I straightened, brushed my fingers over the edge of the training ring, and inhaled deeply. The night air felt sharp, clean. I could almost forget how twisted everything around here could be.   She didn't answer. Actually, she was already gone. That was weird. I glanced around. But there was nothing.   It was just an empty practice yard and the rustle of wind in the trees beyond the wall.
