5Days!!

Chapter 2 : The Unfortunate

The next-day, Tuesday morning, Joshua was shown sleeping on the couch snoring  with his laptop on his left side of his thigh and some empty bottles of water on his stomach, around 7:04. He was disturbed by the sound of music from his neighbor next door which was a Christian song saying "Jesus you love me too much......." He then opened his eyes slowly got up stretching both arms and legs, "uuugggrrrhhhh." checked the wall clock it's was 7:06 saying with a dull voice "Wow am about to be late for school again no time no time for quiet time, Lord am sorry, have mercy and forgive me." He quickly went to his bathroom to  bath and to get ready for school.....

Some minutes later.... Moving out of his house, about to open the door he remembered that he forgot to pick his paperwork from the table in his sitting room. He  had finished his paperwork before he doze off on the couch, he then pick it up, went outside of his house and locked it. Going to the road side a voice came out of no where.

 "Good morning Joshua, how was your night?" Asked Mrs. Adegbite.

 looking shocked. "You scared me there Miss Adegbite." he replied as he scratched his head.

 Mrs. Adegbite was much more older than Joshua around her late 60's, a single mother with three sons now working for the government, she also was the woman who always play Christian music early in the morning almost everyday, it was so loud that people complain to the extent that some leave the buildings near her or knocked at her door in order to shut down her music but she will open the door and start to preach the gospel to them about salvation. Joshua on the other hand was the one and only person that can withstand her because he is actually a Christian also the music was his alarm clock to wake him up every morning.

"How is family and work uncle Joshua?”

 "Ma am grateful." he replied.

 "Yes my son, God bless you."

"Amen ma, I will be on my way." He waved at her and left her surroundings As he was walking he notice the hospital behind him was now opened for service he nodded "WOW! this hospital is really big, the hospital as been in construction since three years back. it will save life more in our environment....the President really is on the move to develop this society." he thought as he was walking towards the bus stop. He spotted an homeless man with an heavy paper on his hands written on it, “BEWARE!”

 Suddenly in front of him a little girl ran towards an incoming car pursuing her fallen ball... meanwhile after Joshua seeing it  was in the right position to save her also an inches away. The car was so fast that the driver couldn't have the time to fully pressed the brake but horn to the fullest. Joshua ran to her at that moment .....he carried her on his arms, backing the car, the incoming car was too fast for him to dodge so it got to him and hit him, he  jumped to the front wind screen of the car while still holding the girl by his arms protecting her from the impact. He was on the wind screen when the car fully stopped and Joshua rolled down to the ground still holding the little girl safe leaving a big c***k hole on the wind screen. After hitting the ground with his back, he immediately stood up went to the ball which was at the other side of the road, picked it up and gave it to the girl on his arm saying as he breathed heavily and an intense voice, "Your ball little girl, where are your parents?"

Meanwhile the driver was dumbfounded. Immediately people ran to him in every corner some clapping, shouting and chanting “Hero! Hero! Hero!”

Meanwhile Mrs. Adegbite was looking at all that with fear that she couldn't move or speak.

The parent of the girl ran to Joshua shouting, "My child!! our child!!! thank you very much, thank you sir.." giving the child to them.

he waved  his hand while smiling, "No problem we thank God she is safe." he said. About going on his way, suddenly he stopped he felt a wet moisture coming down from his nose, he reluctantly raised his hand slowly touching it, raised his hand towards his eyes, he saw it was red in color, coming out of his nose.....

he fell down like a log of wood immediately and was bleeding from both ears and  immediately went unconscious.

In Joshua mind everything and everyone one went blank but meanwhile everyone has gathered around him. But he still heard them shouting.

"Can anyone do CPR!!!!."

"Is someone a doctor."

 "Someone should please call 999 or the ambulance number." Mrs. Adegbite who as now gain her momentum, she walked towards them reluctantly.

 "Please take him to the new hospital behind us." she said in a insecure and confused voice.

But nobody heard her because she was not loud enough, everyone was busy with something, the little girl was crying in her mother's hand while her dad was calling the police about the incident, some were shouting at the driver, some were using their phones to take pictures and videoing the whole incident. Then she gathered courage as old as she is,

 "There is an hospital behind us for Christ sake!!!" shouted at the crowd. Suddenly they stopped looked at her,

 "Carry him to my car I will take him there let's go let's go before is too late......." a voice shouted.

After the whole incident. Joshua was seen on a stretcher moving  inside the hospital, when entering the hospital, the lobby is the first thing to see, then the waiting room can be seen behind the nurse's stand, in the waiting room at the front, there is glass-in that surrounded the garden inside the hospital, the garden only as one glassed door that served as an entrance and an exit, also called the center of the hospital, then a passage that leads to every place including the two operating room, six wards, three stairs and a two elevator leading to the next floors and the hospital garage.

Three nurses were pushing the stretcher. One at the left side cleaning the red moisture coming out from his nose and ears, the other two at both sides  pushing the stretcher.....with all that commotion Joshua slightly gained consciousness and slowly opened his eyes.

"He is gaining consciousness." one of the nurse said.

 "Where is the doctor?" another said.

"She is on her way." the third one said after.....

as he slowly opened his eyes. "Where am I?" he thought, "Why am I here, did I just fainted?" "How come? since when?........"

suddenly the doctor came to his side while rushing him. 

"Miss Sarutobi he had an accident." One of the nurses cried. Miss Sarutobi checked his pulse,

 "Since when?"

 "Around 8:49 this morning, Ma." She replied,

 "Okay let's take him to the operating room." She calmly said....

Joshua on the other hand was still in his thoughts saying. "What kind of name is Sarutobi? I have never come across that kind of name before...... is she from this city? hmmmmm no maybe from another country..... definitely not from my state. Let me try looking at her." So he tried to widened his eyes to see clearly what kind of doctor that as the strange name, to check her face, he rolled his eyes to the left and right, he saw the three nurses who were busy pushing the bed towards the theater for operation and he rolled his eyes to the front of his bed and notice a woman dressed in a doctor clothing with an eyeglasses looking a bit different from the others. Sarutobi who was also busy pushing, looked down to Joshua to see if he was still conscious. Their eyes met and immediately she said with a smile. "Don't worry mister you will be alright just keep your eyes opened."..... Joshua looking at her, "What is an Asian woman doing in Nigeria even as a doctor? how is it possible?! there must be a reee.....aaaa...sssssonnnnn." he thought as he went back unconscious.....

"Quick we are losing him." Sarutobi said. So they went into the operating room for surgery ......

Meanwhile Ronke who was actually going to the school earlier saw all what happened to Joshua including her parents. They hurried to school to alert the school principal Mr. James, she was also late for school before seeing that horrified accident that she could never forget. After the report from Ronke's parent. Immediately Mr. James ordered the teachers to meet him in the staff room for an emergency meeting......A few minutes later they all gathered together.

Mr. James at the center said "Is all of you here." looking around. "Where is Mrs. Oputa?" 

"Am here sir." she replied coming from the back, she then move to the front facing Mr. James.

"The reason why I called this meeting is......" Mr. James looked down feeling sad and reluctant to say it.  "What is the matter sir?" One teacher responded.

 "There is a problem it's Mr. Joshua.....Mr. Joshua haaaaaaddddd...."

"Joshua had what sir? please tell us." Mrs. Chioma shouted with anxiety. 

 "He had an accident." One teacher responded. Chioma was shocked. Her heart skipped a beat also it's looked strange to her, hearing that again because her Dad also died ten years ago in a car accident, thinking that will absolutely happen to Joshua. She looked scared and confused same to all the teachers, the atmosphere was a little tensed and quiet for some seconds breaking the silent a male teacher said. "When sir, how.....?" "Where is he now?!" Chioma interrupted as she moved a little step to Mr. James. "He is in the hospital receiving treatment for now, the information was given to me by Ronke's parent but I advised them that they shouldn't report this to anyone in this school about the incident." Mr. James said looking at all the teachers. "Okay we get it sir, which hospital?" Chioma asked trying to hide her sadness and fears. "The New hospital behind his apartment......Somey hospital." He looked at Mrs. Chioma.

"So Mrs. Chioma were you busy before calling you guys for this meeting?"

"Yes sir I was teaching in a class before you called us here."

"Okay after that please go to the hospital to check on him, we will cover up for you while you are away." "Thank you sir am glad."

then Mr. James concluded is speech saying "Ok teachers you can go now but please try to keep your composure and please don't tell anyone so that it will not increase the panics in this school....okay." "Okay sir." they all replied and immediately they all went to their various classes.

"Mrs. Chioma."

"Sir?" Looking back at Mr. James who called her.

"Please wait behind." After all the teachers as moved out of the staff room He moved closer to Chioma he said with a confident tone. "I know he will walk through it.. you know he is stronger than that....I heard he saved a little girl that was about to be run over by a car, so don't worry, God is his strength....and also remember everything in this life happen for a reason.. okay?” She nodded.

 “Good!."

"Thank you sir." Chioma replied with tears in her eyes which she did forced not  to roll down from her eyes. Mr. James seeing her said. "Don't worry he will be fine okay. you know what? go and see him don't worry about today's work you are allow to go home  after you have visited him in the hospital." "But sir what about the paperwork." she replied looking at Mr. James. He also replied her back. "No, not today you can summit it on Friday, I also will tell the remaining teachers to summit their paperwork on Friday." Chioma went to her desk to pick up her hand bag, putting her phone in her hand bag. "I will be on my way." she said as she walk through the staff room door. "Okay some of the teachers and I will also come after school hours you hear." Mr. James said smiling. "Okay sir." She smiled back. Chioma then hurried downstairs going to the garage reaching for her car, brought her key from her hand bag. she opened the car, entered, put her hand bag at the back seat of her car and closed the door. she held the steering wheel with both hands and her head touching the steering wheel.

"O Lord please heal him from all his pains, make him whole once again, I believe.....I believe. In Jesus Christ name Amen!!!." So she zoomed off to the hospital.

Reaching the hospital she immediately went to the nurses at the stand.

"Good morning, Please ma, am here to see the man who had an accident recently in your care."

"Oh you must be his wife." one of the nurse replied her,

"No!" Chioma looked shocked. "Am his friend non of his family is around to see him because they live in Soya state and actually I haven't tell them yet."

 "Eyah! Sorry ma."

 "So what your name ma, we need more information from you, you know for security reasons."

"Okay, no problem, I understand."

"How will I tell his family even Sunday about Joshua most especially my kids how will I tell them.... O Lord help me." as she thought

meanwhile both nurses called her "Ma! Ma!! Ma!!!" but she couldn't answer because she was lost in her thoughts, and again the nurses shouted "Ma are you okay?" One of the nurses Touched Chioma. She fidgeted. "Yesss! am okay sorry for that my name is ......." 

"Oh you must be Chioma, I think?"

 "Yes am Chioma, how do you know ma."

Bringing her hand for an hand shake. "Am Doctor Sarutobi Hinata a surgeon from Nihon am the leading doctor in this hospital." after the hand shake she continued. "Actually the reason I knew your name was because during the operation he called your name thrice saying tell Chioma that I may not make it for the outing on Saturday." "What! He didn't worry about his health, he is worried about the outing, Geez he never change, please can I see him?" Sarutobi replied her looking excited "Yes. you can please follow me." As they went the two nurses who had listened to every conservation between Doctor Sarutobi and Mrs. Chioma,

 "You know what? Sophia!" the other nurse happily replied.

 "Know what? Mariam."

 "I noticed something."

 "What do you noticed Mariam?"

"I noticed that Miss Chioma is the wife of  Mister Joshua or his fiancé."

 "Ahhh!!. Who told you that Mariam, you have come again." Sophia shouted. She peeped ahead looking at Chioma fingers while walking and talking to Sarutobi.

"But I don't see any ring on Joshua's finger but I see a ring on Miss Chioma's finger and that mean she is married to another man."

 "Hmmmmm who told you so, are you there or are you one of their family." Mariam replied looking at Sophia in disgust.

"Well lets see. If you are right, fine. if am right, fine. if we are both wrong, fine." Sophia implied pointing both hands at herself and Mariam. "Let get back to work." Mariam included.

After some seconds. "Wait!" Touching Sophia. "Sophia how can both of us be wrong you chose the opposite of mine."

Meanwhile Chioma and Sarutobi were both still walking to Joshua's ward.

 "So will he be fine?" Chioma asked,

 "Yes don't worry he will be OK but right now he is still unconscious." reaching the theater. "You can see him through the window." As Chioma looked through the window he saw the bandages, oxygen mask and a life support machine, she walked a few steps backward putting both her hands on her mouth and started to cry, lamenting. "This is what am afraid of, Lord please heal him." Sarutobi looking at her in a pity way, she went to her and put her hand on Chioma shoulder to console her. "This is not a major accident he will be all right just give him a few days to heal." Chioma after hearing the consolation from Doctor Sarutobi, wiped her tears.

"What about his injuries?" she asked.

"Oh that," Sarutobi replied. "He had a broken rib, some stitches and also we stop the bleeding internally." Sarutobi looked at Joshua on his bed. "but I assure you he is going to make it alive!"

Chioma walked back to the big window, she placed her hand on the glass facing Joshua, "I believe he is going to make it." she faced Sarutobi, then she held her hands, Chioma looked at Sarutobi in an encouraging way. "Thank you for taking really care of him, I really appreciate your efforts." Sarutobi removed her hands from her,

"No, no, no!!! we are just here to save lives, even  it is our job to do so. isn't it?” Chioma managed to smile, "Yes. it is. Thanks again." Sarutobi looked at the waiting room ahead and said to Chioma.

 "They were people waiting for Joshua to wake up at the waiting room,  many as left  for their work. They are also the same people who saved Joshua's life. Most especially the old woman over there. I think she and that couple over there are the only one left." Chioma trying to look for the old woman. "I see her. Wow am grateful to her."   Doctor Sarutobi looked at her wrist watch.

 "Oh I will be back, it's time for Joshua check-up." Leaving Chioma, Sarutobi walked to Joshua's ward before entering Chioma called out her name. "Doctor Sarutobi!" She looked at Chioma. With a big smile she happily said. " Thank you so much." Sarutobi looked at her. Then at Joshua and looked back at Chioma.

 "Please no worries."  She said with a smile, "You can call me Sarutobi not doctor Sarutobi...Am also glad you cared for him so much." Walked towards Chioma, held her hand saying.

 "Let be friends. I believe it's worth it." Chioma was about to cry because she couldn't hold it anymore. Sarutobi seeing her face.

"Do you want to cry?" Sarutobi asked. Chioma removed her hands from her then she tried to clean her tears and said. "Nooooo, am not." "Hmmmmm." Sarutobi nodded her head and then went to Joshua ward for his check-up. Chioma after seeing that she left, she went to the waiting room to greet the old woman and the parent of the little girl.

Around Five in the evening. In a remote island a big building was spotted from a distance far from the city, in that building the United Nations, Military Agencies and Scientist were having a meeting for the hundred times this year. It was a Classified information even to the journalist and to the public. The meeting was moved to the upper room of the building for more enclosed information.

In the room, people were seated. Different kinds of skin colors all round the room ready for the meeting. With a single desks and a single armed chairs was placed at the right part of the room, the other at the left part of the room, another at the center of the room and with a much more bigger and longer single desk and six seats , facing all the seats in the room, it's was well arranged, the United Nations were seated at the right hand side, the Military Agencies were seated at the left hand side while the Scientist were seated at the center of the room. Then the Six people who were dressed in suits. They were called The Arms Of President : AOP, it's consist of three male and three female. They were seated at the front  facing them. Then one of the men, seated at the front spoke into the microphone with a deep voice .

"This is the Classified information about obscure 1.0.0." Immediately from the United Nations spoke through the microphone that was fixed on all the desks in the room. "How are we going to stop it from happening?" Then someone from the Scientist spoke. "It's can't be stop, all over the world we the Scientist as tried to stop it or reduced it but unfortunately we can't stop it. We are Sorry.”

 "So you mean you can't stop it? And it will only occur for days and then nothing?" One of the Military Agencies said.

 "Yes we are sure of it." The Scientist replied looking at the Agent that spoke.

At the AOP desk, A lady said. "But what kind of situation is this? we don't even know the outcome of the situation. All we only think to know or hope for is the world will be in totally Obscure for days." As she placed one of her hand on her fore head looking stressed out.

"Don't worry we will protect the world from all kind of threats during those days." Said The Military Agencies .

“Also we will be supplying things and helping in organizing everyone and everything in the world." Said The United Nations,

"And we the Scientist are still going to look for a way to stop the obscure thing before it will come."

The AOP looked at each other and were happy with the responses they got from all sides.

 "So when is the obscure going to happen to the world?" one of them said holding the microphone on the desk.

Everyone in the room were now facing the Scientists, waiting for an answer.

"It will happen. but when? We do not know. I asked my fellow scientists who are in space, they couldn't find out when but they are still getting a weird radiation coming from all locations in our planet."

The AOP looked at every one in the room. "Then we will be ready for it no matter what the circumstances. Thank you all for your cooperation." The AOP continued. "Before then, we and your representatives will have a meeting this Friday. Now please all unit I repeat all unit should be on standby in all locations both on land, sea and air, for security, support and direction reasons."

After the meeting Around 8. One of the Scientist was in the garage about reaching for his car.

 "Mr. Felix, Mr. Felix!" A young man with a camera hanging around his neck shouted. The scientist looked to the direction of the voice. Mr. Felix was a white man from the west country also the head of the Scientist. He turned around and saw the young man.

"Oh you again, how do you get here? you know journalist are not allow here." Mr. Felix said.

 "I know sir. But sir, why this meeting? Almost everyday." The Young man said looking at the building where they did the meeting.

 "Is like something is fishing there, I know and am sure of it." Then he stared at Mr. Felix. Mr.

Felix shook his head and went to his car, reaching for his key in his pocket. When he was about to open his car.

“I know the world will be in a strange state for days." the young man shouted.

Mr. Felix after hearing that. he widened his eyes. “How did this young man know? how?!" He thought. He turned around, moving closer to him. "How do you know all THIS?!!! HOW?!!" Mr. Felix cried. Immediately he was sweating all over his body as if he has seen a ghost or a grizzly bear. The young man was frightened moving a step backward. "No sir, I didn't know all this on my own, I......I.......it was my pastor who told meeee.....sir!" The young man said with a shivering tone. When Mr. Felix realized his reaction toward the young man, he calmed down and brought his handkerchief from his pocket to clean his sweat which was now draining his white shirt. "Okay. Am sorry for my reactions, am sorry I shouted." He calmly said. "How did your pastor know all this? can you continue." Thinking his pastor might be a spy or a secret agent from an unknown country. "Sir he saw it all in his vision sir." Now the young man was released from his tension. "You know about the prophecy about five years ago? A young lady spoke of?" Mr. Felix was a little bit confused. Folding his arms.

"Hmmmmm......No!" The young man was shocked.

"Shuuuu!.....how come you don't know? it was all over the internet!" Raising his hands to draw an imaginary curl. "All over." Mr. Felix losing his patient.

"Please young man can you tell me or go straight to the point." The young man was eager to tell him, fixing his camera well on his neck, he looked at Mr. Felix. "Yes I will. The young lady predicted that the world will be moved for days but you know we humans some of us didn't believe because we waited for so long even by that time I wasn't working as a journalist." Mr. Felix place his hand on his jaw thinking. "Hmmmmmm......go on."

 "Ok sir." The young man replied. "You know people lose their hope and that makes them tired of waiting. I always hear this saying that what people don't understand, they tend to fear and destroy it but sir. This time around we don't understand any of it, so we tend to forget all what happened.

 "Wow amazing the young lady knew all this without the help of science and technology or observations."

 "No sir, she is a Christian."

 "And so?" Mr. Felix said.

 The young man smile. "So you are not a Christian."

"Noo!..... Am not. I am an ideologist. But I know a Japanese lady who is a Muslim." Mr. Felix smirked. "It's funny right a Muslim from Japan. Ha ha ah!." Moving close to the young man.

 "Please I really need to see the pastor, for some more information." Mr. Felix reach out to his pocket and removed his contact card, he gave it to the young man. As Mr. Felix went to his car, he opened it. Before entry he turned back to the young man. "Who are you again?!" The young man stand straight immediately with a serious tone. "Am a journalist. My name is....." Mr. Felix quickly interrupted. "No. No need for that. Can I drop you off at your place?"

"Heeeee." He smile as he entered Mr. Felix car.

 "Thank you sir."

"No problem....but one more thing. No taking of pictures. What do you say your name is again?" As Mr. Felix drove out.

"My name is Tunde."

Around 10pm at the hospital. Mr. Sunday rushing with his phone on his left side of his ear.

"Hello. Am already there, where are you? I can't see you." Moving through the passage of the hospital. Along the way. Chioma seeing Sunday quickly rushed to him to give him a hug.

"Am sorry I told you late. Am sorry I told you to take the kids from school. Am sorry to leave you alone with the kids. Am sorry....Am sorry!!"

Sunday also hugging her back he replied. "No don't be sorry, remember, am also their father. I thought something bad happened to you also but I thank God nothing bad happened." Sunday released his hug from Chioma, to check her face. They were both Looking at each other.

"I know you might have cried your eyes out. Hmmmmm?.......... Chioma Oputa my one and only beloved wife." Chioma feeling embarrassed quickly faced the ground,

 "No dear! Not this hour, am now alright." She said with a tiny tone.

Sunday placed his hand on her cheek. He raised it up gently to  look at her eyes. "Ok no problem. My mother is with Chidi and Diamond. They waited for you but I pursuant with them before they went to bed." Chioma was lost in Sunday's eyes for some seconds. Then they kissed. After, Sunday held her hand.

"So how his Joshua?"

 "He is getting better." She replied Sunday back. Then Chioma took Sunday to Joshua ward still holding his hand.

Meanwhile Nurse Mariam saw everything.

"Enhhhheeeee! So Sophia is right, wow! Then what kind of love is this? to love different men for different reasons. Is that possible?" She thought as she went out of the hospital with her cloths changed, she was also through with her shift for that day.
