CHAPTER 18 After the angry encounter with Phil, the skies delivered a deluge. The car’s wipers were going flat out, trailing wakes across the windshield. Michael knew he should pull over, wait for the storm to pass; but he was too keyed up to just sit still. As the car splashed through the night, his fury cooled a little. The confrontation had been a reality check, he had to admit. Maybe Phil was being paranoid, but he had a right to be. At stake, the future of every single human being now alive or yet to be born.
