Chapter 2: Who is that man? Lily stood there, stunned and seething with anger, as the door to the presidential suite slammed shut. "s**t! How dare he speak to me like that! He's such a disgusting narcissist!" Lily angrily threw the pillow that the man had touched onto the bed. The phone started ringing. She quickly picked up the phone when she saw that it was her bestie Kelsey's call. "How are you, Kelly?" "Thank God! Lily, you finally answered the phone! Where were you last night? I couldn't find you all night!" "Oh Kelsey, calm down and don't worry. I was drunk and a lot of things happened. But at least I'm back, baby." "At least explain what happened last night, Lily." "You know, I'm worried about you." So Lily explained everything that happened last night clearly, including all the details about the pompous man and his actions. "So, who drugged you?" Kelsey's voice sounds worried. "Who is that man? I will kick his ass! Ah, where are you now?" "I don't know who drugged me, Kelsey. And that narcissist, I don't think he is the one who drugged me, to be honest," Lily glanced around the opulent presidential suite, a stark reminder of the events that had transpired. "I'm at the hotel, Kelsey." The Royal Hotel, Room 2305. "Okay, I'll be there soon." We're going to get through this, Lily. "No one messes with us." After the phone call, she found that she was still clenching her fists, with the wad of money still lying on the floor where he had callously thrown it. This money is definitely an insult to her. But as a recently graduated university student, she is facing the financial burden of student loans. In addition, her mother is currently hospitalized, resulting in high medical expenses and a large loan that she had to take out. Furthermore, she missed an important speech at a meeting last night, which could potentially lead to her being fired by the company. After going through some ideological struggles, she decided to take the money. "But I don't want to see that narcissist anymore," she murmured, and threw the business card in the trash can, hoping to erase any trace of that narcissistic encounter from her life. - On the other side of City A, there are some storms brewing. "Mr. Charlie, do you want to continue pursuing it?" Charlie, the CEO of a prominent REN company, sat behind his sleek desk, his face an unreadable mask. His assistant, James, stood nervously in front of him, awaiting a response. Charlie's jaw tightened as he contemplated the situation. His mind replayed the events of the previous night, and the disdain he had shown Lily echoed in his thoughts. While he projected an air of confidence, a flicker of doubt and remorse crossed his eyes. "Five minutes, find out everything about her." When he mentioned the payment, the anger on the woman's face didn't look like an act. Maybe he misunderstood her. Whatever, he started to think about her. "Sure, Mr. Charlie," answered James. "But your engagement with the eldest daughter of the FES Group is coming soon..." "I won't marry her," Charlie interrupted James impatiently. "What is the current situation of the person I asked you to find?" "I've found someone willing to sign the contract, but..." "So just sign the contract immediately, no need to report to me. I don't have time to wait, okay?" I'm busy this month. Now, let's talk about acquisitions," Charlie asserted, redirecting his focus to the business.
