Her heart sank in deep agony.
Sorrow.
Betrayal from the only person she called home.
A wolf had cost her so much pain and misery, all she did was love him.
She knew there was not much time to blame herself or overthink, with trembling hands she made for the necklace around her neck.
She managed to remove the silver pendant from the necklace with her blood-soaked hands, and she smashed it with the little strength in her.
Silver! Something that frightens even the strongest wolf.
A piece cut her, but she wasn’t thinking about it at that point.
She muttered some magical spare, but these spares need energy to feed on, she had no energy left as her lips shook from fear, so she swallowed the silver pendant.
Hearing Korg push down heavy equipment she fidgeted. Leaving her child she crawls slowly to the moon’s reflection. She needs to talk to this Moon, a man she had loved with her heart, who is about to kill her along with her newborn.
“Moon,” she cried softly. “Tonight I place a powerful curse on your fullness. From now to the nights of other full moons may the descendants of Korg lose what they love the most when taking up the throne.” she whimpered.
“May the pack grow weaker and population reduce with each rising generation and may their enemies conquer them.”
At that last word, a mighty wind blew up dust with a loud noise. She collapsed.
Korg was frightened knew this was no ordinary wind, it must be Linda, but he made sure she was too weak to cast any spell, what happened?
At this point he had already gotten a kitchen knife, it was sharp and reflected light. He ran up to Linda.
The wind is still blowing and the trees are swaying as if they would pull down from their root.
“Linda” he shook her violently but she was motionless.
Dead! In the pool of her own blood.
Her body was completely pale at this point, he reached out to the baby, he was almost gone but had a little breath in him.
He has done something wrong hence he needs to cover his tracks.
Inside the ceremony hall, panic escalated, and the full moon had turned red as blood.
People could see and sense danger, some were running outside gradually as light flickered.
Korg thought about what to do, he couldn’t just run away at this point, the police would investigate the scene tomorrow and there were security systems all around. This might burst him.
He dragged Linda's body to the back of the store, he could still hear a faint scream from his guests afar.
Sweating profusely he gathered energy and began to dig a shallow grave. With fear, anger, and bitterness he thrust her into the grave along with the baby.
He went ahead to cover the grave.
But how is he going to make no one see this footage tomorrow, he remembers he saw the manager’s office. He rushed in to disconnect the system but just couldn't no matter how he tried.
The screams from the hall grew louder.
With no time left to think, he grabbed a keg of petrol, poured it around the building, and set it on fire.
The fire was fierce and it blew up like a bomb.
Korg exited the scene but stood watching from a distance. He suddenly felt weird.
His wolf inside felt weak, it's growl sounded too faint. He couldn't believe it or was he imagining things?
Screaming continued, at this point a lot of people were already outside screaming in pain, some growled and he saw their wolf leave their bodies.
People drove away not knowing what was going on. Quite a lot of people had lost their wolf, he saw it from a distance.
“Linda” he muttered to himself with so much fear “What had she done?” A stream of tears crowded his eyes. He swallowed hard.
The fire kept burning as people kept running.
He dragged himself into the hall, his feet sore, his shirt torn, and werewolves were going feral losing their wolf ability.
“Alpha!” a girl screamed at him “My wolf….it’s gone.” she cried. Another joined her, “Mine too.”
Then another, “What do we do?”
Korg who still smelled like blood fell to his knees and let out a loud yell.
His head felt heavy, and emotions raced through him.
Just then the police car came in with its siren wailing, along with the fire service as they tried to quench the deep red fire.
Then tried calming the troubled wolves and reassuring them that everything was perfectly handled.
As the chaos outside subsided slowly, the moon looked clear but Korg felt it was no longer the way it used to be.
Tonight, his pack has lost itself.
