The Yasu Hunter

225 Words
As the ordeals of the last descendant of the Uehara Haikigiri blademasters wane into a fickle peace, Uehara Kuro finds herself straying further from her homeland, earning a living through the eyes of a vagrant. Between the many mountains of Katen and the cold borders of Yura, she was given purpose anew with the prospect of her swordsman's skills to be put to test. The lands of Yura have long been known to be infested by Yasu, though lesser ones at least, and there was no other unlikely place for her to stay but in a place where she can be of use. For several years after her marauding life was put behind her, Uehara Kuro became a spirit hunter.  In reflection of past regrets and a contemplation of future resolutions, The Yasu Hunter tells of Uehara Kuro's story of repentance, and further on, leading to the events that have made her decide to take upon the responsibility of the Senburo. In this chapter, Kuro discovers new outlooks, meets new people, and certainly new enemies as she continues to fight the battle both from within Yura, and within her own mind. The trials that await the unsanctioned wielder of the Senburo was far from over, and a new ordeal certainly awaits Uehara Kuro in the 24th chapter of the Shadow of Issu, The Yasu Hunter.
