Chapter 30 Was He Okay?

In the grand hall illuminated like daytime, Wang Ke was holding ten sheets of printed paper in his hand, sitting comfortably on the soft sofa fully concentrated on reciting the content on the paper. Li Ruoxi, on the other hand, looked at the five pale-faced young men with an unkind expression on her face. Occasionally, she turned her head toward Wang Ke and glared at him, who was totally oblivious.

She was not sure how she felt at the moment.

Wang Ke took advantage of her when he got to see her entire body as she was showering earlier. She had wanted to take revenge on him to teach him a lesson and show him who's the boss, thus letting him know that she could not be that easily taken advantage of.

Yet who would have guessed that hitting him with an electric baton would lead to something like that! That his big hands held one of her two most mysterious and sensitive body parts for so long. Even though it was an accident, she was still so embarrassed!

What was more ridiculous was that they had to be invaded by other people at that intense moment, let alone it had been five thieves. The whole thing turned out to be a robbery at the end where she was about to be robbed of money and r***d.

She was so unlucky today. If it were possible, she wished so much for today to start all over again. She even wanted to erase her own memory of this day.

Glaring at Wang Ke who was wholeheartedly reciting the contents on the paper, she felt angry and helpless. Was this guy really this stupid, or was he only pretending to be? He was even holding her breasts earlier... And now he acted like nothing had happened at all as if it wasn't him who had assaulted her earlier. This b*st*rd really needed to be ravaged!

Since they were in a top-tier villa community for the rich and bigwigs, the police had extremely high efficiency. Four to five police cars came roaring into the villa area in only about seven minutes. With the guidance of several security guards, the police quickly came to the gates of Li Ruoxi's villa yard.

Li Ruoxi heard the sirens from far away. She had already comforted Mrs. Song and came outside the gates.

"Hi Miss, I am the vice-director of Qingshan District Police Department, and my name is Zhang Rui. We are very sorry that you are frightened in an area under our control. Where are these bold criminals?" Vice-director of Qingshan District Police Department Zhang Rui, though physically big and strong, came to Li Ruoxi with ultimate politeness and an apologizing smile.

Of all people who were able to reside here, he had no power to offend anyone. Li Ruoxi could possibly be someone very important, or her family or friends were someone in a leading position with high status and grade.

Still, he was shocked by Li Ruoxi's beauty the moment he saw her.

Li Ruoxi was content with the performance of this vice-director. She nodded and put a smile on her face, shaking his hand, "My bodyguard has already taken down those criminals. They are right inside the villa."

A bodyguard?

Taken down by a bodyguard?

Zhang Rui was astounded, and he secretly patted himself on the back for how he acted earlier.

Anyone who could hire bodyguards was no simple civilian. At the very least, this woman was the CEO of some big-name company.

"Please lead us in! We will never let these outrageous criminals go easily. Please believe in the punishments of the law. We will make sure to enforce a stricter patrol in this area and never let anything like this happen again." Zhang Rui said seriously.

Li Ruoxi smiled and nodded. Following her lead, around seven or eight police officers and some security guards of the villa area walked into the first-floor hall.

"Gosh! It's them?!" The security guards shouted in surprise the moment they entered the daylight-like hall and saw the five young men lying there like dead dogs.

Zhang Rui frowned and turned to the security guards, asking them in a low voice, "You know these people?"

The leader of the security guards, a middle-aged man, quickly came to Zhang Rui and answered sourly, "All five of them are security guards in our villa area, though they are not in my team."

"B*st*rds. As security guards, they should have been protecting the proprietors' physical and financial safety. Yet they dared to deliberately break the law, rob and threaten the life of the proprietor. This is so unreasonable and makes their crimes even worse." Zhang Rui was mad. He was, after all, a Police Department vice-director with a decent sense of responsibility. And it was because of him that the law and order in areas under his control was admittedly the best in Changji.

After a few angry shouts, Zhang Rui frowned and glanced at Wang Ke who was just standing up and still holding the printed paper in his hands. Then he called to the police officers who followed them inside, "Capture them all and take them all back to the station. Their crimes had to be sentenced by the law."

Around seven or eight police officers ran to the five men lying on the ground and brutally snatched them up.

"Ouch... Slow down. It hurts..."

"Ah, it hurts so bad. My leg is broken, and my arm is broken too. Ah..."

"Ouch..."

Under the brutal treatments of the police officers, the five men ailed in agony at once, feeling they would rather die instead of suffering through this tormenting pain.

The police paused hearing their heart-breaking cries, and their brutal actions stopped at once. The confusion in their eyes immediately changed to horror the moment they saw the state the five men were in.

Zhang Rui, too, was shocked by their cries in agony. He frowned, and after he saw what had happened to the five men, he couldn't help but twisted his lips with a slightly different facial expression.

It was ruthless.

The wounds were mostly concentrated on the right ankles and wrists. Zhang Rui and the other police realized at once after they saw the situation that the five men definitely got these wounds after they lost the ability to fight back.

He swiftly glanced at Wang Ke who appeared very calm and suppressed the shock on his mind. He then turned to Li Ruoxi and asked, "And this is?"

Li Ruoxi glared at Wang Ke, "He's my bodyguard Wang Ke, who took down all these gangsters. Oh, and they came sneaking in with weapons too. Look, here are the five knives they carried."

Zhang Rui nodded at Wang Ke with a bitter smile, "You have been a bit too ruthless, haven't you, Mr. Wang? With the way you've beaten them up, even after we take them away, we would have to heal them first! You are very good at fighting though, taking down five gangsters with knives single-handedly. The lady here has hired an impressive bodyguard!"

Wang Ke's mind was not on what was happening in front of him. He was entirely occupied by trying to recite what Zhao Menfeng had assigned him to remember. So he replied quietly, "If I do not beat them hard enough, I'm afraid I would be the one lying on the ground and my boss would be humiliated. Those people came in here to steal. And after being found, they turned to full robbery, and later s****l assault."

Zhang Rui's heart trembled. He clearly understood what Wang Ke meant. Wang Ke was not explaining himself, but rather telling the crimes of the five men!

Originally, they were only guilty of weapon-holding robbery. But now with what Wang Ke had said, their crimes immediately doubled up.

Zhang Rui squeezed a smile to Wang Ke and nodded, "I see. I do need you to come with us to the police station for a written record though. This is just regular procedure and I hope that you can cooperate."

Li Ruoxi knew this procedure by heart and she nodded in agreement. Yet Wang Ke frowned. Going to the police station to take a record? Then it was going to waste a lot of time left for him to work on reciting, wasn't it? He only had two days left! He was so desperately trying to memorize the text earlier and it had taken him two days and a half. With only two days left and some of the time wasted by messes like this, how was it possible for him to finish memorizing all of it?

He hesitated before smiling bitterly, "Is it okay if I do not come? My boss can go with you."

Before Zhang Rui could even open his mouth, Li Ruoxi raised her eyebrows and snapped, "You are my bodyguard. How can I leave without you? This is the official legal procedure. And as you're the one who beat them up, how can you not come with us?"

Wang Ke touched the bridge of his nose and nodded helplessly.

Zhang Rui looked between Wang Ke and Li Ruoxi, secretly sighing in his mind, "The young man's fighting skills were absolutely horrifying, yet he was obedient to this girl. It looked like he has no immunity to beauty. Everyone must have their weakness, it seemed!"

Actually, he understood it wrong. Li Ruoxi was not Wang Ke's weakness. And the true reason that Wang Ke did not insist on staying behind was that not only were his food and bed entirely provided by Li Ruoxi, he also had a salary of twenty thousand a month. It had nothing to do with beauties or not.

Soon, the five men were taken by officers into police cars, and Wang Ke and Li Ruoxi rushed to the police station in Zhang Rui's car.

In the police car, Wang Ke stared hard at the printed paper on his hands, whispering silently, trying to memorize the words.

Zhang Rui, sitting in the passenger seat, was confused by what Wang Ke was doing. He really couldn't understand why this young man named Wang Ke kept mumbling random words and phrases ever since he got into the police car.

Was he okay?

Was it possible that he also got hurt when fighting with the five criminals? Perhaps his head was damaged? Otherwise, why would he do something so weird like this?

Li Ruoxi, of course, knew about Wang Ke's situation. She witnessed with her beautiful eyes how Zhang Rui occasionally turned back with an odd look in his eyes. And she couldn't help but felt it was very funny.

Wang Ke was so focused on memorizing the contents that he didn't even care about what kind of situation he was in. Li Ruoxi was impressed.

In the end, Zhang Rui in the passenger seat could hold it no longer. He turned to glance at Wang Ke and asked Li Ruoxi in a whisper.

"Is he alright?"

Li Ruoxi couldn't help but c***k a smile. She shook her head and answered, "It's okay. Don't mind him. He is like this sometimes, losing his mind once in a while."

Zhang Rui spared at look at Wang Ke and swallowed hard. He felt that Wang Ke was very strange and that there was a sense of wickedness from his body. He had been acting too abnormal since he got in the car.

After inquiring Li Ruoxi, he inspected Wang Ke several times in secret and found that Wang Ke carried on acting eccentric as though he had not heard what Zhang Rui had said earlier.

It took all sorts to make the world!

Zhang Rui sighed to himself.

Wang Ke didn't hear Zhang Rui and Li Ruoxi's conversation clearly. His whole heart and mind had been entirely attracted by the words on the printed paper. And unless somebody shook him physically, he would not come out of this highly concentrated state.

The time was limited. He had to utilize every second to memorize.

He had already seen what Zhao Menfeng was capable of. The man was so strong that he wholeheartedly submitted. He now had one chance. And if he let it go, he would regret it for all his life.

He couldn't care less about the written record. After all, Li Ruoxi was here! She was a strong woman in charge of a whole firm. And if she couldn't handle a small case like this, she didn't need a bodyguard anymore. She could just commit suicide and die as a loser.
