Have you ever been laying in bed flipping though six different books on six different reading apps because they aren’t available on one app? Yeah that’s me. Just a bored she-wolf reading some random humans version of my reality. Some are very interesting and I would love if it worked that way. Some, I’d never want to live it. Second chance mates is one of the biggest debates. They are extremely rare but never impossible and usually you aren’t paired with a shitty mate as often as you read. I mean, it makes for a good read, but I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
I really need to go to bed. I am finishing up my senior year and the beginning of the summer I turn 18 and plan to be traveling the world. I don’t want to be tied down to one place right now and I’ll get 2 months of that before my online college courses start. Again another misconception, we do get higher educations as we need to earn a living just like the Alpha. Alpha Kane and Luna Grace own a very successful business outside of the pack. Alpha builds new business buildings or homes for clients and Luna Grace is an interior designer. Here I am talking about them as if they aren’t my parents. To me they are mom and dad. I am following in my mother’s footsteps and want to do interior design but I am majoring in digital media as I don’t know where life will take me and want to have my bases covered. My brother, Walker, is the future Alpha for our pack and is currently training to do so. Alpha camp is just finishing up and I haven’t seen my brother in six months! Walker gets back this week and he met his mate! I’ll have a sister! I’m so excited for him and the new journey he is about to set foot in. As for me I have time and I’m in no rush to find my mate.
*BUZZ BUZZ* my phone vibrates pulling me from my thoughts
Walker texted me.
Hey there bud!
Hey!
Sophia, Knox, and I will be home tomorrow!
I’m excited he’s coming home but Knox is coming?
Oh yay.
Now I know you don’t like Knox but it’s been a year bud. He’s not as big of an asshole.
Okay if you say so. Love ya.
Love you too.
I lock my phone and try to sleep.

I park my jeep in the school parking lot and start to make my way into my school.
“Magnolia!” Ashleigh yells out.
“Hey Ash!” I reply.
She makes her way over and smiles big. I return the smile.
“Are you ready for Walker to be home?”
“Of course. He met his mate, sorry for your luck Ash.”
“Oh girl that’s okay.” She waves her hand. “I just hope I get a big hunky man.” We both laugh hard.
“Knox is coming with.”
“Oh Mags.” She grabs my shoulder. “Are you good?”
“Yeah. Just don’t want to be near him at any point.”
“After last year. I don’t blame you.”
“It’s just annoying and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.”
The bells rings and we race off to class. By the end of the day, I was anxious to get home to see Walker and meet Sophia. I get home and toss my keys to a gamma wolf that stands guard to move it when he feels like it.
“They aren’t here yet sweety.” My mom laughs.
So I walk over to the gamma and take my keys and park my car and walk back. Hoping to kill time before he gets home.
“I’m so excited mom!”
“I know sweetheart. I am too! My son has found his fated mate!” She’s beaming with a sparkle in her eyes with tears of joy at the brim, threatening to fall any second.
Just then we see a car coming toward us and we all go quiet and wait as patiently as we can.
Walker gets out and goes to open the passenger door. He extend his hand and the most beautiful she-wolf emerges from the vehicle. Long black hair, skin the color of warm hot cocoa on a winter day, curves that would make any male fall to his knees and a smile to knock him out cold right after. Her eyes are kind and shows love, Luna essence oozes off her being.
“Son! Sophia!” My dad booms. Knox steps out the back seat. “Oh and you too Knox.” We all laugh and say our hellos and give hugs.
“Hey bud. How bout after Soph and I get settled we all go down to the lake?”
“That sounds amazing. I’ll go get ready.” Ignoring Knox, I run up to my room and change. I can’t wait to hang out by the lake. It’s hot out with a cool breeze today, perfect lake weather. Too bad I have to put up with Knox. I walk down and decide to walk to the lake rather than drive because again, nice weather.
It takes only 10 minutes to walk from my house to the lake. Passing by the pack house where my mom and dad now where working on the new project for Knox’s dad, I smiled. The pack house is where guests stay and the newly mated future Alpha stays until his house is built somewhere on the land. But it’s also a library and dining hall, we have meeting rooms and game rooms and an indoor pool for the colder months. I love the pack house, it’s my home away from home. I make it to the lake before everyone else getting the privilege to pick the best spot by the lake.
“Avoiding me?” A voice booms behind me making me jump 10 feet out of my skin.
Knox.
