Chapter 3 – Confrontation And Then Honesty

Penelope’s POV

What a night it was! Above of it all I am finally free of my relationship with Carter. I’m single and extremely happy about it. I’ve left the party almost 10 minutes ago and enjoying the silence that is ahead of me and I’m admiring the dark blue sky and the sparkling stars above me. It’s been a long time since I’ve actually enjoyed the view of the beautiful night sky. For the first time in forever, I’m taking it all in and loving this freedom.

I might have spoken to fast because for a split second I’m thinking that I’m imagining someone yelling ahead of me and extremely hoping it’s all in my head and it’s the side effects of having a few drinks tonight. Who am I kidding? Someone ahead of me is getting a ear full from his girlfriend. Has I’m approaching I finally can identify the voices. Taylor is in Liam’s face and she isn’t backing off. I came to a stop and just watch was happening in front of me. That’s when I heard it.

“How dare you break up with me during the party? I was embarrass. How can you do this to me? I though you loved me?” Taylor yelled at Liam.

"Taylor, you need to calm down. I have neighbors and your going to wake them up…” he whispered to her but I could still hear it from where I was standing. That’s when Liam noticed me.

Liam’s POV

She’s been yelling at me for the last 10 minutes. I’ve tried to tell her to keep it down to not wake up anyone in the neighborhood but it’s Taylor we’re talking about. This girl could careless about anyone else both yourself.

“Taylor just go home!” I answered angrily to her into a whisper. I thought after breaking up with her it would have been all over.

“How dare you break up with me during the party? I was embarrass. How can you do this to me? I though you loved me?” Taylor yelled at me. Man can she ever yell.

“Taylor, you need to calm down. I have neighbors and your going to wake them up…” I whispered to her. That’s when I noticed Penelope standing about a mile away.

“I love you Liam…” I cut her off before she could even finish her sentence.

“Who are you kidding Taylor! There was never any love between us. I never loved you. You we’re just a girl so desperate to date me and for some stupid reason I let it happen. Now Taylor you need…” I couldn’t even finish my sentence right then and now she slapped me across the face. What happened next I would have never have guessed it.

Nelly came running and put herself between Taylor and I and she quickly catch her hand as she was about to take another hit.

“Taylor! That’s enough! Before a scene unfolds here and someone gets the police involved you need to head home and sleep it off. This is not worth it.” Penelope said while saving my face from another slap from Taylor.

“That’s it Liam! Don’t ever come crawling back to me. We’re done.” She yells towards us and we both squint our faces from the yelling echoing in our ears. And just like that Taylor turned around and went on her merry way.

Nelly quickly turns around both of us looking into each others eyes and before I knew it she broke the silence.

“Oh my god! Are you okay? Wow! She did a number on your face Li.” This girl was the absolute sweetest. Shortly after I felt her hand touching the side of my face where Taylor had slapped me. “You need to put some ice on it. You need to avoid any swelling.” She added but not before she noticed what she was doing and removed her hand from my face. D*mn! Her touched sent shivered down my spine. I always knew there was something special about Nelly.

I quickly grabbed her hand and we made our way into the guest house in my backyard. I opened the door and let her in first. I quietly closed the door behind us and when I turned to look at her she looked mesmerized. I grabbed her hand once again to grab her attention.

“Hey! What are you thinking about?” I whisper into her ear. She suddenly closed her eyes and I could see some excitement building up.

“I’ve never been in the guest house before. It’s absolutely beautiful. The hanging lights on the ceiling, white walls and the oak wood. I can’t believe that’s where you and the boys hang out most of the time.” She answers back to me while she moves around the room.

“It’s not has beautiful as you though.” I respond to her while leaning against the wall. At my surprise she turned on her heel and looked directly at me.

“What was that?” she quickly asked. She was know looking at me with her big beautiful brown eyes. A little chuckle came out of me and just like that I repeated myself.

“It’s not has beautiful as you though.”

“Liam…” but as quickly has she says my name I cut her off.

“Nelly…you we’re right earlier.” She looked at me with a curious gaze. “I have no clue what I saw in Taylor, what I ever did for that matter. It took you today to finally let me see what I didn’t want and what I actually want…” for a minute I take a pause and focus my attention on her to try and figure out what she’s thinking about. “And then why I saw you and Carter breaking it off tonight all I wanted to do was go over to you and just save you from that jerk…” before I could finish what I was saying she looked into my eyes and swallows.

“Oh wow! *clears her throat* is it hot in here? My throat is dry. I need to grab some water.” She makes her way to the fridge and grabs a water bottle. After drinking almost half the bottle she comes in front of me and hits me hard on the shoulder.

“Are you kidding me Liam?!” she yells at me but in a sweet way. I robbed my shoulder where she hit me and looked at her with a confused look.

“Ouch! What in the f*cken hell was that all about?” I asked her. She started pacing the room in front of me and just then she stopped and glared at me and then shook her head. She let’s out a sigh.

“What does it all mean Liam?” she then asked me. I made my way in front of her but then she crashed into the wall behind her and I put both my hands beside her head.

“It means exactly what it means. I’ve been a fool for way to many years. God! You we’re the very first girl I ever liked. First time Spencer invited me over I though you we’re the most f*cken cutest thing I’ve ever seen. Penelope’s POV

OH MY GOD! Is all I can think about. Did Liam just admited he has had feelings for me for a very long time? This can’t be happening to me. Liam and I!
