Chapter 5 - Morning After

Liam’s POV

The next morning I woke up around 7am, I couldn’t sleep anymore. The sun was beaming directly into the guesthouse. I gently turn to face Penelope. She was still sound asleep beside me. I started watching her sleep. She most of been having a nice dream before she was all smiles. Without waking her up I moved a little bit closer to her and put my arms around her. She didn’t even wake up, she rested her head on my chest and once again I got to breath in her scent and gently kissed her. I rested my head on hers.

“You are my favorite person in the whole world.” And just like that I drifted back to sleep.

Penelope’s POV

I opened my eyes and remembered exactly where I was and with who. I was still wrapped around Liam’s arms. I could hear soft snoring coming from him. He was still asleep and I was more than happy to stay snuggling into his chest. It was the only place I wanted to be. I wrapped my arms around him and hold him even tighter. I pressed a soft kiss on his chest and then tilted my head up and kissed his chin. A smile suddenly appeared on his face and his lips met mine.

“Mmmm! Good morning beautiful.” Liam says while cuddling me tighter.

“Good morning to you too.” I quickly added with the biggest smile on my face, followed by a giggle.

“What time is it?” he asks me. I lifted my arm and looked at my watch.

“It’s 9:37, do you have any plans today?”

“Ya! Spend the day with this new girl I’m seeing.” He says with a smirk.

“Oh no way? Your seeing someone?” I just couldn’t hold it, I started laughing. Liam started to mock my laugh.

“HAHAHA! Your lucky your f*cken cute.” Followed by a kiss on my lips.

“Seriously though! I do want to spend the WHOLE day with you but I think we should avoid being touchy touchy around other people…” Liam looked at me strangely. I put my hand on his chest “…I definitely don’t want to hide what we have, that I promise. My feelings for you are bigger then you would ever imagine…” Liam smiled at me and put his hand on top of mine. “…but you just broke up with Taylor last night and I just broke up with Carter last night as well. I don’t want to be that person.” I looked down at my knees.

“And which person is that?” Liam asked while lifting my chin up.

“The person that ends a relationship just to start another one right away….”I looked deep into his eyes. “…Your not just another relationship to me. That’s not what I’m saying. It’s just Im doing what Ive always hated people doing after a breakup.” I couldn’t stop rambling on. Liam grabbed my face with both his hands, leaned in for a kiss.

“Nelly, you don’t have to explain. I totally understand what you mean. What I feel for you is also not just another relationship. It’s the one I’ve always wanted to be in. And yes, I do agree with you. I don’t think we should tell anyone right away. It will be our little secret.” I moved his body so he was lying on his back and I climbed on top of him. He put his hands on my hips. I slowly took off his t-shirt that I was wearing and leaned over him. I grabbed the side of his face and we then started kissing passionately.

We made out for a good 25 minutes until my stomach started rumbling. That kind of killed the mood. Instead we laughed a bit before Liam suggested we get food.

“I think we should go put some food in that body of yours. After last night we need to rebuild our energy.” I couldn’t agree more.

“That sounds like the perfect idea. Your place, my place, Denny’s diner?”

“People will raise questions…” Liam responded.

“I have an idea. I’m going to head home. Get ready quickly and I’m going to ask Spencer and Haley if we should have a “sibling" breakfast or brunch.” I quickly came up with an idea.

“That’s a great idea babe. Want me to drop you off?” he asks me before getting of the bed.

“That’s good. Ill walk home. It will raise less suspensions.” Liam nodded. . I put back the clothes I was wearing last night, kissed Liam and made my way out of the guesthouse without being noticed by anyone.

As I was walking home I texted both Spencer and Haley.

“Hey Spencer, we should go have breakfast or brunch at Denny’s with the Ledgers? We could pick them up.”

“Good morning Hales! Is your stomach growling as much as mine this morning? Because I was thinking you, Liam, Spencer and I should go to Denny’s in about 30 minutes.”

Haley was the first one to reply back.

“Sure, I will talked to Liam. He just got in. Looks like he slept in the guesthouse last night.” If only she knew I also slept in the guesthouse last night.

“Sounds good. We’ll pick you guys up.” Shortly after I got one from Spencer.

“Perfect. I’ll be home in 10 minutes. I fell asleep at Matt’s last night.". Okay well I guess I better start running before Spencer’s sees me walking home.

“See you at home.”

“They’re in! We will see you both in about 30 minutes. I got to run home now. Spencer is leaving Matt’s place and I don’t want to be seen. Xox” I messaged to Liam.

“ Great! See you in 30 xox” I read Liam’s text and ran to the house.

We made it to their house within 30 minutes. I got out of the front seat and let Haley slide in first. My brother owns a 1999 sunfire with two doors. Before I went in I looked at Liam and he gave me the biggest smirk and brushed the side of my hand. I would have done anything at that moment to give him a kiss. The drive to Denny’s was quiet. Which was fine with me because I knew once there we would be chatting about last night.

After entering we made our way to a booth. Haley and I always sit in the back while our brothers take the edge side. Unfortunately Liam wasn’t sitting in front or beside me but it was alright. The waitress made her way to our table and asked us what we wanted for drinks. She looked at me first.

“Ill have an orange juice and a coffee…” all eyes fell on me. “…What? Im tired.” Spencer and Haley had a questionable look.

“Ill have an apple juice and water please.” Haley asked.

“orange juice for me.” Liam ordered

“and an orange juice for me as well please.” Spencer told the waitress.

“I will be right back to take your orders and will bring you your drinks.” Replied the waitress.

As we we’re browsing the menus we started chatting up about last night.

“What was last night about?” asked Spencer. Curiously I looked at him.

“What do you mean?” I asked him.

“You broke up with Carter and you broke up with Taylor. Was there a memo and other’s didn’t get it.” My brother looked at both Liam and I.

No memo! Taylor and I we’re done before we even started.” Liam said. I looked around the table at everyone expression.

“Same here. Im happy my relationship with Carter ended before it would have gotten out of hands.” I quickly told everyone. Haley was in shock. Not for my breakup but for Liam’s. She turned to look at him.

“Wait! You broke up with Taylor?” Liam nodded. “Well good for you bro.” she added and slapped Liam on the shoulder. Within a few seconds the waitress was back with our drinks and took our orders.

“Ill get 2 over easy eggs with bacon and a side of breakfast potatoes please and thank you.” I gave my order to the waitress. Liam looked at me with a raised eyebrows. He knew how hungry I was. But did he know I was also hungry for him?

“Could I please have an order of French toast with some bacon on the side? Please and thank you.” Haley ordered.

“Ill get the big special with scramble eggs please.” Liam said to the waitress. He most be very hungry for ordering the big special. After last night it doesn't surprise me.

“Ill get the special and over easy for my eggs please.” She wrote down Spencer’s order and left.

While we waited for our food Spencer decided to ask Liam what happened with Taylor last night after all the messages she sent him.

Liam’s POV

We we’re all sitting at the dinner waiting for our food. Even though our siblings we’re here with us, this was Nelly’s and I first breakfast together as a couple.

“What happened with Taylor after you left the party last night?” Spencer asked me.

“To be honest, not much. She asked me why I broke up with her and yelled like the mad person that she is. Could have easily woken up the neighbors. But she didn’t leave before slapping me across the face.” I didn’t want to tell them that Nelly actually saved me from getting b*tch slap for a second time by Taylor last night and making her leave. If we wanted to make sure our relationship stayed a secret we had to bend the truth a bit.

“She did what?” Haley’s eyes we’re big and you could see she was angry.

“Its all good. Just happy that crazy is finally out of my life.” I reassured them. Haley rubbed the side of my face before turning to Penelope.

“Oh my god! Did you see with who Carter was making out with before you left?” I rolled my eyes and made eye contact with Nelly. She gave me a side smirk and turned her attention to Hales.

“Alicia! Ya, unfortunately for myself I got the full on view when I walked passed them.” We started laughing.

“I heard that they made it into Matt’s parents bedroom.” Added Haley. Spencer put his hand out and swallowed his juice and confirmed it.

“*Cleared throat* Oh ya! Alicia was the first one to get out of the bedroom. Carter came out with his shirt on his shoulder and scratch his crutch like he had just caught crabs or something.” Penny chocked on her coffee and Spencer started patting her back. She put her hand up and cleared her throat.

“Im okay.” She said. We all started laughing at Spencer’s comment about Carter catching crabs. With Alicia's reputation everything was possible. Shortly after the waitress made her way to our booth with our food. The rest of our breakfast was quiet and peaceful. We finished our food and talked for a little bit more about what happened after Penny and I left the party. Someone was apparently so drunk that they skinny dipped into the pool by themselves and someone puked in Matt's Jacuzzi. Happy I don't have to clean that mess. Only mess I have to clean is the one Penny and I left on the bed in the guestroom. In all honestly, the end of our night was way better then theirs. After talking for another 15 minutes we decided it was time to go. We paid and made our way back to the car. Spencer dropped off Haley and I back home. We we're going to meet up later on tonight. Before Spencer put the car in "drive" I waved and gave Penelope a wink.
