When Brooks leaves Terrence's office, I am about to go after her, but I know she needs a moment to be alone.
"Do you think she's considering not going through with the process?"
I looked at Terrence. "Maybe," I admit flatly.
"You know, I'm curious, why did you choose her to propose your plan to?"
"Because, for starters, Brooke has no family," I replied. "Well, her father is a piece of s**t and hasn't been in contact with her for a long time."
