Ian Wolf’s POV The sound of sirens, people gathered around, and the murmurs stayed in my head, accompanied by the image of Brooke lying unconscious on the pavement. I don’t know how long I’ve been waiting in the emergency room when Luisa, her friend, shows up. “What happened?” she asked, arriving in her nurse’s uniform. “I just started my shift, and I hear the rumor that one of ours is here, and it turns out to be Brooke.” I stood up, looking at her pained expression. I’m sure it’s taking everything she has not to lose her mind right now. “It was an accident.” Her hand flies to my face, slapping me, and she steps forward. “This is all your damn fault,” she hisses. “Because of you, my friend is in there.” Her eyes filled with tears, and she shook her head before walking away, leaving
