Chapter One - Unbelievable!

948 Words
Maya was in disbelief. Could her own father have just sold her in the 21st century, to the most dangerous mafia in the city? She was utterly bewildered as a member of the Brigado gang forcibly ushered her into a luxurious office without a single word. "What's happening here? Why won't you answer me?" She might as well have been speaking to a brick wall, given the indifferent response from the intimidating, tattooed man. As she continued to pace and voice her confusion, the door suddenly swung open, revealing a striking young man clad in loose jeans and a singlet, casually holding a handgun. His body was adorned with tattoos, a prominent scar gracing his arm, and his physique showcased through the snug fit of his singlet. Maya couldn't help but notice his commanding presence and well-defined waistline. "Seen enough?" he asked in a cocky tone, observing her with amusement. Maya snapped out of her daze, questioning why she was so captivated by a tattooed man when she usually associated tattoos with irresponsibility. She found herself unable to tear her gaze away from this Adonis. "Ahem... Would you prefer I serve myself on a platter with hot sauce on the side so you can devour me properly?" he remarked with a hint of amusement. Maya shook off her distraction for the second time and finally found her voice. "I'm Maya, and I need to know why I'm here," she stammered in a small voice, bewildered by her own vulnerability. She understood that she needed to muster her confidence if she was going to deal with this intimidating young man. She had encountered formidable clients at the law firm, but there was something about him that eluded her understanding. He might look like the stereotypical bad boy she'd ignore on any other day—handsome, arrogant, tattoos and all. However, he exuded an aura of authority that inspired fear, and that was precisely it—fear. She was terrified of this man, even though she had no idea who he was. Maya continued to wait for an explanation, but he didn't even acknowledge her presence. She stood there, torn between sitting down or staying on her feet, with an unsettling feeling that sitting would be a bad idea. She marvelled at how she managed to keep from trembling, at least for the time being. He wordlessly strode past her to his desk, leaving behind an alluring scent that drove her to wonder about its name. "Leave us, Blade," he instructed the silent mafia member, who nodded respectfully before exiting the office. Observing Blade's departure, Maya muttered to herself, "So, he can speak. Wait, did he just call that guy 'boss'?" Unable to hold back her curiosity, she blurted out, "Who are you?" Her words escaped before she could rethink them, leaving her with immediate regret. In a disinterested tone, the man replied, "My name is Eric, and I own you," his gaze fixed on documents and pictures on the expansive desk. "You can't own me," she retorted. "I'll sue you for human trafficking and expose your illegal activities as soon as I leave this office. I'll.." Eric interrupted her, firmly stating, "I do own you, and I can f*****g do as I please. Now shut the hell up, and stop distracting me." Terrified, she thought, "This must be a terrible nightmare. I need to wake up." She squeezed her eyes shut and paced anxiously. Suddenly, Maya found herself trapped against the wall. Eric's hot breath on her trembling face, and a gun to her neck. "Listen up b***h," he said in a condescending tone. "I've got three rules for you if you want to live." "First, never speak out of turn. If you do, I'll cut off your f*****g tongue. Second, obey my commands without question. I tell you to do something, you do it. If I tell you to go somewhere, you go there. No questions asked. And lastly, never leave your quarters or contact anyone beyond the walls. If you're caught, I'll blow your f*****g brains out. Do you understand?" Panicking, she repeated, "No, no, no, no. Maya, wake up now. I've got to stop watching those horrifying movies at night." "Do you f*****g understand me?" Eric shouts, bolting Maya back to reality. "Yes sir!" Maya screams in terror. "Good." Eric says, gently releasing her as he takes two steps away from her. "Now strip." Eric says, eyeing her wearily. "What?" Maya exclaims, horrified. "You're joking, right?" Maya's heart raced as the fear continued to course through her veins, and she couldn't shake the feeling of vulnerability. Eric's unexpected command left her trembling with uncertainty. She struggled to find her voice, her eyes widening in disbelief as she confronted the unnerving request. At that moment, time seemed to stand still. The room's dim lighting cast eerie shadows on the walls, and the tension hung thick in the air. Maya's mind raced, desperately trying to make sense of the situation. She searched for any sign that Eric was playing a twisted prank, but his stern expression and unyielding gaze made it clear that this was no joke. The fear that had initially gripped her transformed into a potent cocktail of confusion, humiliation, and anger. She couldn't comprehend why Eric would ask such a degrading and invasive thing. Her body instinctively tensed, as her mind grappled with the dilemma at hand. Should she obey his unsettling demand, risking her own dignity, or should she stand her ground, unwilling to submit to this bizarre and disturbing request? Maya's internal struggle mirrored the chaos of emotions coursing through her, trapped between the undeniable fear of Eric's power and her own self-respect.
