By the time we reached the estate, I felt like my body was functioning entirely on spite and caffeine that didn’t even exist in my system.
The second the SUVs stopped, men were already moving around us quickly. Some headed toward the gates while others started checking the perimeter like they expected another attack to magically appear out of nowhere.
Honestly, at this point, I wouldn’t even be surprised. Leone opened his door slowly beside me and immediately had to steady himself against it for half a second.
