I didn’t tell Leone I was leaving.
Not because I was trying to sneak out but because if I stopped long enough to explain it, I knew I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from breaking down instead.
So I just walked. Down the hallway. Past the rooms. Past the staff who tried to greet me and immediately stopped when they saw my face.
I wasn’t even thinking clearly anymore. Just moving.
The only thing in my head was Liora’s face trying to speak and nothing coming out and my f*****g stupid ex-husband, Vaughn.
The man who brought him into all of this. The man Leone still kept close enough to control, but not far enough to erase.
