I didn’t sleep after that.
There was no point even pretending I could.
Every time I closed my eyes, I kept seeing Liora trying to speak and nothing coming out. Not crying. Not screaming. Just that confused look like her own body had stopped listening to her.
My poor baby was going through hell for some f****d up s**t they couldn't keep to themselves and my daughter was f*****g suffering!
Leone stayed in the waiting room with me for a while, but at some point he got pulled away to talk to the doctors again. I didn’t ask what they said. I didn’t have the energy to hear more medical explanations that all ended in the same place.
We just sat in silence until morning properly came. When I finally saw Liora again, it was in her room.
