A blanket of mist covered Silver Lake as dawn broke over the quiet countryside.
Far from the noise of the city, an old stone house stood alone at the edge of the water. Its paint had faded, and vines climbed its walls, but someone had recently lit the lantern hanging above the front door.
Damien Blackwood slowed his car to a stop.
"This is the address," he said.
Lucas studied the handwritten note they had received the night before.
