Amaya
Clayton put me down on my bed, gave me a cold, “goodnight,” and left.
I lay under the covers, the soft fabric of the sheets brushing against my skin, cool to the touch, brushing against areas that felt sore from where he’d been, areas he had touched me just long enough to leave behind a ghost of warmth.
My mind raced. Why had I agreed to be nothing more than some s**x doll to him so he could sate his needs? If I was honest with myself, I think I believed that something romantic would come of it, like perhaps he would become softer with s**x, give in and kiss me, or because it was my first time, that perhaps he would feel the urge to want to hold me after.
I don’t know, I think I had naively created this whole romantic image in my head when I should have taken his words very seriously. Just as he warned me, he kept it rather professional, clinical almost, he didn’t even remove his clothes. The only one naked had been me, and the most passion he showed was the attention he gave my b.reasts for those first few minutes.
I didn’t even see his e.rection. I still didn’t know what he looked like down there, but I certainly felt how big he was. It hurt so bad at first, so bad I wanted to cry, but like he said he would, he was careful with me, stopping every so often, allowing my body time to adjust and stretch around him, and then this new strange feeling came over me, a tingling sensation, and then pleasure mixed with pain. I never knew they could exist and work so well together, but they had, and then I’d climaxed for the first time in my life, and it felt incredible. I wanted to feel it again.
Morning came, the sound of the wind whistling softly against the windows and the pale light filtering through the curtains woke me. I got up and went downstairs into the kitchen to see Clayton already there at the table eating. He looked up at me, and I smiled, but he didn’t smile back, and I felt embarrassed. What had I expected? That he would embrace me and whisk me off to make love? If anything, he was even colder towards me than normal.
When breakfast was finished, he scraped back his chair and stood up. “I’ll be in the hall ready to train when you’ve finished your food.”
“Ok,” I whispered.
The therapy was slowly helping me, but now I was sitting here wondering if Clayton was disgusted having slept with me. What if he was just too lost in lust to see the truth last night and now he regretted giving in to it?
No, I had to stop thinking so low of myself, or I would be like this forever, I would always struggle with my self-image and insecurities, but I needed to start arguing against those dark thoughts. One thing I knew for certain was that Clayton was honest, he had nothing to be afraid of, and certainly not from me. If he wanted to be cruel and say mean things or be brutally honest, then he would, but he had never said anything cruel about my weight or my face, so I had to believe when he said he didn’t care how I looked, that it didn’t bother him.
We did train, but while he was more relaxed like he always was when training, there was still a coldness, a bigger distance than usual. He still guided me, corrected me, his hands still found my arms, shoulder, but everything was much more controlled and stiff. He barely looked at me unless he had to.
It stayed like that between us, and then a few days later he came into my room. “I’m going to lock up as usual. I won’t be here for three days, so you’ll be alone. If you need anything you can contact Bliss, and I’m sure she will be more than happy to come over.” He handed me a cheap Nokia phone and added, “please don’t try to escape again, for reasons I’m not willing to explain, it will be dangerous if you do. You won’t make it out of the forest alive, so for your own safety, stay inside.”
He left after that, and I wondered what he meant. I peered through my bedroom window, but the forest seemed quiet and peaceful. I looked up at the sky and saw it was a full moon tonight. He wouldn’t be here for three days, the forest would be dangerous during that time, and it was a full moon. Was the danger himself?
Before he closed the door, I called out, “is it you that will be the danger?”
With his hand on the knob, he opened the door back up and leaned in, looking as if he couldn’t decide whether to tell me or not. In the end he said, “yes, part of my punishment is being trapped in wolf form for three nights every full moon. I’m even more wild and unpredictable during those times. I have almost no control over myself. If I see you, I’ll kill you, and I couldn’t stop myself even if I wanted to.”
He closed the door after that and was gone.
I was surprised by my feelings while he was gone, even though he was cold and didn’t seem to like me very much, and even knowing that under the full moon he became something more wild, uncontrolled, deadly, I still found myself kind of missing his company.
It was lonely here on my own, and the silence was deafening. There was something about Clayton that brought life and excitement and danger into the room, like he carried an aura so powerful it was palpable in the air. Without him, the place was just dead and empty.
I cleaned, did the laundry, I even trained in the hall alone, making sure I didn’t forget anything he had taught me. When he returned through the door on the fourth day, I was so happy I almost ran over to hug him and stopped myself before I did. He frowned when I skidded to a stop in front of him. I felt my cheeks grow hot with embarrassment. Did he know I had almost been about to throw my arms around him?
Maybe he did because he smiled, “miss me?”
“Yes!” I blurted and then slammed my hands over my mouth.
Thankfully he only smirked and, shrugging off his jacket, said, “good, then maybe it will mean you don’t try to escape again.”
Besides that interaction, it was back to him being cold and distant, another month passed like that between us, and when I was due on again, he tried to avoid me. He invited Bliss over one night, and I made sure to sleep in the room on the third floor again. This time was different, and Bliss noticed the next morning.
Clayton ate with us at the breakfast table, but he didn’t talk or look in my direction, and then he got up and left the room. Bliss was watching me, and when I looked up at her, she smiled and whispered, “you like him, don’t you?”
I blushed hotly and was glad my dark ebony skin hid it. I couldn’t hide my racing heart from her werewolf hearing, though, and she smiled, leaning on her hand. “It’s ok, he isn’t mine, and he is absolute s*x on legs, isn’t he?”
I shyly gave a small shrug, and she laughed, “he’s got traffic-stopping good looks, the girls I work with all freeze and stare at him whenever he drops me off to work. Last week when he came to pick me up, I saw him waiting outside, leaning against a lamppost, and,” she laughed and covered her mouth with her hand so he wouldn’t overhear and then whispered, “and then he got surrounded by this group of young girls, he looked so uncomfortable, so I went out and saved him.”
I gave a small laugh, and she said, “anyway, if you want to know a way to a werewolf’s heart, it’s food and s.ex.”
“That easy?” I laughed.
“Pretty much,” she grinned.
“How come you haven’t become official with him?” I asked.
“He’s more complicated than your average werewolf and isn’t interested in having a mate. Besides, as gorgeous as he is, I wouldn’t want him for a mate, he’s too scary for me.”
“You seem to handle him well,” I smiled.
She waved her hands at me and laughed, “no, definitely not. No one can handle him. He’s an actual god we have to remember too. I act confident around him, but I also know my place and how far I can go without p.issing him off.”
I nodded and looked down at the glass in my hands. It was quiet for a while, and then she asked, “can I ask you something personal?”
I nodded.
“I notice you look at him more dreamily than usual lately. Did you two, you know,” she leaned in and whispered, “have s**x?”
I blushed hard and hid my face in my hands but nodded.
“I knew it!” She hissed, grinning.
“How many times?”
“Just once,” I whispered.
“Your first time?”
I nodded, and she gave me a puppy dog expression. “Awww, that’s so cute. He wasn’t too rough, was he?”
“No,” I kept my head down, my cheeks feeling like they were on fire talking about such things.
Bliss jumped and sat back in her seat, she must have heard Clayton before I did because a minute later he came into the room. “I’ll take you home,” he said to her.
She said goodbye to me and jumped to her feet, not wanting to make him wait, I didn’t need to be a werewolf to feel the impatience and tension in the air coming from him.
