Chapter 7 Thursday morning, Casey arranged to come in to work a little later than normal, promising he’d make up for whatever he didn’t get done by working through lunch and staying later, though Mr. Benson assured him he wasn’t at all concerned the younger attorney wouldn’t be prepared for his next case, which was scheduled for the next week. Still, Casey didn’t like not being where he was supposed to be and wanted to make sure his employer knew he was being responsible about the time off he was asking for. He walked Cooper to the bus and then returned to the front porch where he’d left his coffee mug, hoping to catch Paul before he left for work. He’d mentioned he wanted to speak to his older brother a few times since the meeting with Miss Swanner earlier in the week, but Paul shrugged
