Ava’s POV The weeks passed quickly. Ever since the funeral, life had become a constant circle of activities. Liam had been taking more phone calls than usual, and every time I asked, he assured me it was work-related—books, shipments, inventory for the library. But his answers were becoming as routine as the apologies that followed. He often stayed out late, arriving home long after I’d fallen asleep, and when I woke up for work, he’d already be gone.
