KAELYN. “That's impossible. From the beginning of Storm Academy when it was created by our ancestor, Alpha General Rhogar Vael, the student council had only be formed by six people. The Prime Alpha Prince, two Alphas from the most important packs as available, the prime alpha's beta and two smart kids. It's complete, we need no one else. The laws cannot be changed.” He seemed very agitated by my request. “But one of the seats are empty right now–” “The seat of Alpha Prince Kaiven cannot be taken!” He banged his hand on the desk angrily. Shivers ran down my spine, but that didn't stop me from moving forward. “Fine, I understand.” I stood up slowly, “But I can't help you if you refuse to help me.” “Kaelyn!” His voice made me halt in my tracks. I didn't turn back to look at him, but my hands slipped off the door knob. “Fine. I believe we can create a spot for you. It's impossible to take someone out of the student council but we can bring you in. But….” He walked towards me, “The moment you break this deal, you'll lose everything.” “Fine.” I replied, “Thank you, Headmaster Thornhelm.” My hands slid to the door knob, “Just so you know..” he said again, “There's only one person who had ever been able to be his friend. And that's Kaiven Amric. As for you, I hope you'll be able to use his tactics.” Kaiven's tactics. I smirked. There's no one who knows it better than me, Kaelyn…Amric, his sister. I turned to Headmaster Thornhelm, a smile plastered on my face. “It would be nice working with you, Headmaster Thornhelm.” I said and pulled the door open, walking out. The school breeze hit my face harshly and I smiled, taking in the cold air. It's beautiful. Who would have thought Headmaster Thornhelm could easily give me what I was about to fight Evren for? “What are you doing here when you are supposed to be in class?” Evren. For the third time today, I'm being spotted by him. I blinked. I had to still be careful with him. He knew my secret and revealing that would cost me my life, regardless of if I had a pact with Headmaster Thornhelm or not. Let's just say, I'm in a deep pit where the headmaster and the prime alpha prince are watching me. “I was called by Headmaster Thornhelm, but I'm going back to my class now.” There was no visible expression on his face so I walked past him, throwing off my fingers for his beta, Rhythe. Between the both of them, I can't tell who is more silent and evil. They mirrored each other. That night, I slept with a smile on my face. Tomorrow is going to be the first day of me getting into the student council and spying on Evren. Good night, Storm Academy. ***** “Students of Storm Academy, teachers and workers. There is a new development to be introduced…into Storm Academy. As you all know, for the past century, Storm Academy had kept the rule of the Student Council members. However, today there will be a new development. We are switching to the number of perfection and today, we'll be introducing the first seventh member of the Student Council or Storm Academy since the creation by Alpha General Rhogar Vael.” A pause as Headmaster Thornhelm studied the crowd intently. “Welcome Kaelyn Altair.” A gasp resounded round the crowd of students as they all turned to find me in the crowd. I didn't stare at anyone as I straightened my spine, marching towards Headmaster Thornhelm on the podium. “Him?” I heard students ask in shock. “As you all know and have seen, Kaelyn displayed some skills during the fight to be one of the prospects and I believe he would become one of the greatest students Storm Academy had ever had since creation. Students, your newest council member, Kaelyn Altair.” The introduction came to an end and the crowd dispersed in less than twenty minutes. I wasn't expecting anyone to clap for me, but I didn't expect them to be so annoyed about it either. I hadn't done anything wrong. “Kaelyn, this is a shock.” Davyn overshadowed me as he stopped in front of me. “I can't believe this. In just three days, you are a prospect member and one of the student council. Even Calrix was not given the position of council member that fast.” Mason said. I could tell he didn't really accept the fact that I was given, for no reason. “Well–” “Kaelyn.” Someone butted into our conversation as soon as I parted my lips to speak. I looked up as Davyn moved away. It's Rhythe. I don't think he'd ever spoken to me personally before. “The Prime Alpha Prince requests for your presence in the Student Council hall. You'd be having your first meeting today.” “Today?” I asked. Why that fast? “I guess we would…see you later.” Davyn said. “See him later? That's going to be impossible. We can't even have breakfast, lunch and dinner again on the same table. He'd be sitting with the council members from now.” “That's not–” “Follow me, Kaelyn.” “Why do you always butt into the conversation when I'm the one speaking?!” I snapped before I could control it. Mason and Davyn gasped. “Kaelyn…” Mason drawled, “That's the prime beta.” I bit my lips tight. But… Rhythe.. he simply stared at me and walked off. “Go first. We will find a way to talk with you later.” Davyn said in a hurry. “Okay.” I whispered and followed after Rhythe immediately. “Rhythe,” I muttered as I fell into steps behind him. He's a fast walker. So fast. “I didn't mean to shout at you at that place. It's just…I was trying to pacify –” He pushed a dark door open and I blinked as everyone turned to look at me, except Evren. Someone whistled, shaking his head slightly. “Welcome, newest member.” I gulped. Dareth Venloris. Evren Vael. Calrix Rowyn. Rhythe Avenor. A guy smirked at me, “I'm Soren Door.” “I'm Kaelyn…Kaelyn Altair.” He nodded, flicking his quill pen on the table. An empty chair stared back at me. My brother's seat, Kaiven Amric. Evren finally looked up, “Come in, Kaelyn.”
