NATHAN’S POV I skimmed through the pages of another one of Aldous Huxley’s works, my mind wandering as I took a peek at Alastair from over the book as she drove past the neon cityscape towards a quieter road in the middle of nowhere. Trees flanked the narrow unpaved road that we were now cruising in, its terrain slightly clouded by the thick explosions of dust underneath Alastair’s Ferrari. As we went deeper into the countryside and away from the bustle of people from the city, shadows of trees and blurred images of the colors green and coffee were the last thing that caught my eye before I heard the sound of the car’s voice assistant tell us that we’ve already arrived in our destination.
