Just as Elder Jack saw that I was being serious about it, he cleared his throat, looking around, to be sure no one was listening.
“I…” he paused a bit, his hand shaking uncontrollably, and his fears were something I could smell from afar.
If an elder of the Mooner's pack is scared to disclose what went wrong many years back which had led to the death of my parents, then this must be something deadly.
“I'm listening…” I started while waiting for elder Jack to say a word. I need to know what exactly is going on! I can't just stay here and wait for Alpha Grindley because, to me, it seems he had tricked me into marrying him, using my parent's death as bait to lure me in. And now that I've danced to his tune, he seems to have relaxed.
