The text contained not one, but two periods. Ouch.
Kimiko was, if anything, the sort of person who used way too many exclamation points in even the most mundane missives. She also overindulged in emoji, feeling it was better to give too much context to a message, rather than not enough.
A curt text from Kimiko was worthy of concern indeed.
This was serious, and Casey knew the best course: respect Kimiko's wishes and give her the space she asked for.
