Another night of trying to blend in with the humans wasn't going so well for shadow. The normal humans didn't seem to be bothered by her being amongst them. The few rouge wolves and vampires in the crowd didn't dare come here; her thinking was probably just another human or maybe a witch. At least that is what shadows hoped her aunt's new potion did. A group of supernaturals seemed to be trying to follow shadow. One smelled like a pack wolf instead of the rouge smell of the typical wolves that hang out around her. Pack werewolves bug shadow to no end. They were responsible for the loss of her kind. The wolves didn't have to kill them. Lycan birth rates were in decline. If they weren't so bothered by the fact Lycans were stronger than them. Maybe even favoured by the moon goddess. Shadow would dispute being favoured by the moon goddess. For if Lycans were favoured why would she have let a freak of a Lycan like her be born at all let alone to a powerful Lycan bloodline.
Her pursuers didn't seem to be making their intentions any less obvious. Shadow carefully led the strangers to a long dark alley away from prying eyes. Even other creatures stayed away from this ally. Shadow doesn't understand why it's a great place to do various things like drink blood of a donor for vampires or exchange medical supplies for rogue wolves. This group wouldn't be Shadow's first fight down there. The light of the moon doesn't even reach the alleyway. It was like the gods above didn't want to see what happened there. Shadow didn't have to walk all that far into the alleyway next to a fairly popular nightclub. Before her followers wouldn't be able to see her from the street.
With the followers closer, she got a better sense for their scents. One was different from the other 2. There was a hint of magic mixed with that of a wolf. Either they were a wizard mated to a wolf or a wolf mated to a witch or wizard. Thanks to her Lycan enhanced senses she was perfectly able to see her followers carefully step into the alleyway. Sure werewolves had good vision to see in the dark too but they aren’t able to pick out as many details as Shadow. Shadow wasted no time in finding the best place to stand just out of range of the wolves' sight. Her followers were 3 men all roughly 6 ft tall and with an athletic build. Shadow grabbed one of the mean rusty metal pipes on the ground nearby. Shadow was more than capable of defending herself against the wolves but the threat of magic being fired at her made her feel better with a weapon at hand.
The magic man whispered something in a bead language if shadow wasn’t paying attention she would have thought he was still silent. The other two men seemed to stiffen up when the whispering started. Shadow didn’t know what the man was cheating but her Lycan, Diana was warning her to be on guard. These meant business and whatever it was wasn’t good for them. A faint green light came from the magic man's hand and floated towards Shadow. “Crap” shadow muttered. Realising her way out was limited. Now that she knew the magic man was definitely a wizard and good with tracking spells.
