“All right, fine. But I’m waiting right here for you.” “Whatever.” Sunday Jane and Bryce had gone to a nearby park for a jog and Bryce had found her quiet unsettling. When he’d asked about the phone call, she’d shut down and picked up her pace. He had a hard time keeping up with her. Monday at work she was apologetic and even brought him a coffee. “It was bad news,” she said. “I just need a bit of time to process it.
