A workhorse is a horse or a person that does a lot of work, especially dull or routine work.
It took Octavia and Bellamy a solid month to heal and move out of their old house. After, the Elder Council decided to whip Octavia twelve times and Bellamy six times. They were forced to move out of their home and move into a one-bedroom run-down cabin close to the horse stables. Since they have been permanently assigned to be stable hands. Their main job is shoving horseshit and hay. They completely hated their new life. Gone were the days of manicured nails and days spent leisurely at the day spa or the hair salon.
