Kat's P.o.v

It feels like someone is gripping tight on my lungs with each word that struggles to come out of my mouth.My mouth is dry as if admitting what happened would cause me to choke on each silabil.I can feel everything from what was done slowly rising up within me and I could feel my heart racing.He takes my hand and tries to calm me as the fear and violence from HIM starts to show all over my face.He looks me in the eye but all I can do is look away."Shh it's ok Katrina....you're safe".I feel like a coward when I fail to tell him....and disgusted when the images replay in my mind.

I lay down and pull him in.He wraps his arms around me and I feel safe.He brushes my hair off my face and tries to soothe me as the tears begin to fall.His breathing slows and I can feel his chest rise and fall against my back.His voice breaks the silence and the horrible thoughts pounding in my head."I once knew a girl,she was smart....and she had an amazing laugh.Then one day something happened to her that took away that amazing laugh of hers."I feel his body tense against mine,as if the memories of this girl were suddenly flooding all the empty space between us."She was a sophomore in college, and one...one night she went to a party.I was supposed to meet up with her but..."This was the first time he had ever shared anything about himself."She was drinking and the next thing she knew she was in a room with 2 guys she didn't know, and one of them was on top of her."

His words slowly pour over me like ice water down my spine and I feel a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. "Wha..what happened to her?"My voice began to crack as I finished the question, knowing no good would come from it.I could feel his heart pounding at my back and regret washed over me.His voice was low,as if telling her story drained him completely.

"She...couldn't..I couldn't. "I could hear the pain in his voice, I turned over to see those ocean eyes full of pain and loss.He rests his head against mine and inhales deeply.Tears begin to paint his face and that's when I knew the story was over.We lay there in silence til it becomes harder and harder to keep my eyes open.

I don't know how long I had been sleeping but when I opened my eyes I instantly felt tired, my head was pounding and my entire body was screaming in pain.I turned over but David wasn't there.I slowly get up from bed and open the bedroom door when I hear two muffled voices from the downstairs. As I get closer to the foot of the stairs I can hear David talking but can't make out the other voice.The closer and closer I get the voices become easier to make out,just as I'm about to take the first step down.....HIS voice stops me in my tracks."Well please if you hear anything please let me know." David's voice is calm and polite."You'll hear from me."

He closes the door shut and in the instance it's as if gravity itself is pulling me into the staircase.David slowly walks towards to banister to find me frozen in fear.He slowly climbs the stairs as if to let me prepare for his embrace.He cradles my face in his hands and all I can do is lean into it."He was looking for me, wasn't he?"He took a deep breath and gave me a reassuring look...."Yes...But you're safe hear with me I promise.I won't let him hurt you."He looks deep into my eyes and I believe him."What will we do if he comes back?" He kisses my forehead "I will keep you safe."He helps me to my feet and I feel the fear slowly drain from me with each step we take.My world just got a whole lot smaller, but that much safer because of him...

His words replay in my mind...."I will keep you safe".The only question is ....from what?.....
