The car ride back to Anchorage seemed to fly by fast, like the daylight at this time of year. Before he was ready for it, Three was deprived of Angel’s presence in the seat next to him. He watched Angel get out of the car, and the realization finally hit home that he didn’t want to say goodbye to Angel Number Sixteen. An immortal existence without him did not seem very appealing to Three. They would probably team him up with some other insufferable do-gooder, and Three did not have the patience for that at all.
