6. The Morning-after

The birds were singing their morning songs outside the cave happily, the animals were running around starting their morning routines and collecting food for the days, the tree-leaves and branches were swaying around and dancing on the music that the winds played, the water was flowing down the waterfall and flowing into the lake. The woods were as lively as ever.

The two newly mated mates were still asleep, tired from their lovemaking and sealing their mate bond. Grayson was the first one to open his eyes with a beautiful and content smile on his face. His smile fell the moment he realized the reason he woke up. He was getting a mind link from his Alpha.

Immediately report to the Alpha’s office, we have a lot to discuss. His Alpha had said. Grayson knew what the Alpha wanted to talk about. Grayson had told his Alpha that he found his mate and she is a human. Grayson told him that he has a date with his mate, and he will join the hunt after his date which he never did. And his Alpha must be furious about the fact that the Beta neglected such an important event in their pack. The full moon hunt for the pack means letting their wolves’ bond together as a pack and show unity and strength as a pack. And as the leaders of the pack, it is their duty to join the hunt. He replied his Alpha that he will be in his office shortly as he is still with his mate. Grayson could feel his Alpha’s surprise to his statement trough their bond as he had told his Alpha that he is not going to mate with his mate under the effects of the full moon, but he had done exactly that. When Grayson thought about it, he suddenly remembered the events of last night.

He felt like a complete failure. He felt like he had taken advantage of his mate. He was drowning in guilt and self-loathing. He was embarrassed of his actions. He knew that he did not act like the proud and powerful beta that he is but instead he acted like he is some hormonal teenager who has no control on his hormones and desires. He felt like crying when he saw Michelle covered in bite marks and bruises. Although his beast was feeling proud of himself, but the human part was loathing himself. He was supposed to keep his beast under control, no matter if it was full moon or blood moon. Their first time was supposed to be romantic and special. They were supposed to make love to her and not f**k her like the mindless mutt that he is. His beast growled in disapproval at his statement of calling him a mindless mutt, but Grayson could not care less now. He felt like he had violated his mate in the worst way possible.

The marks that littered his mate’s body were supposed to bring proud and joy to him, but they were the source of his shame now. He just wanted to run away and never show his face to his mate, but he also knew that doing so would be worse than what happened last night, and his mate might feel like the Beta used her body only for pleasure and had no intention of spending their lives together. Keeping that in mind he willed himself to stay put and wait for Michelle to wake up.

Michelle woke up because she felt all the self-loathing and shame that Grayson was feeling through their mate bond. At first, she was worried that Grayson is regretting what happened between them last night but when she concentrated more on the mate bond and his feelings Michelle realized that Grayson is not regretting what happened between them, he was regretting the way it happened. This brought a smile on Michelle’s face. Her mate was such a softie at heart for being such a huge, muscular man and wolf. Michelle decided to open her eyes and let her mate know that she is awake. Michelle opened her eyes and decided to walk to the entrance of the cave where her mate was sitting. But when she stood up her legs caved in, reminding her of the hard and powerful pounding she got last night, and her face burned a dark shade of crimson. She hid her face with her hands even though there was no one else in the cave beside herself.

She removed her hands from her face and willed the tint from her face to go away so that she could go to her mate and tell him off about feeling like he is the filth of the supernatural.

She tried to stand up again with the help of the wall of the cave and started looking for her clothes. She found her top and panties ripped in half and her pants were also torn near the zipper. This brought that stupid blush back on her face. Grayson attacked her like an absolute hungry and s*x deprived beast last night and she loved every second of it. After bringing her emotions under control for the second time in last five minutes she decided to use her magic and make clothes appear on her body. After that she looked through the basket that Grayson brought last night for a water bottle. When she found it, she drank all of it in one go and realized from the sting of water on her throat that how even her throat was so sore. Probably from all the screaming she did last night, and the blush came back… AGAIN!!!

This intrigued her curiosity to see her mating mark and herself in the mirror. She wanted to see if she looked worse than she felt at the moment. She conjured up a large floating mirror and gasped loudly after seeing herself in the mirror. She had a cut on her lips, they were blue from all the sucking, biting and pulling Grayson and his beast did last night, her eyes were extremely puffy and red like she had been crying for days. There were bruises on her neck from when Grayson held her neck tightly while f*****g her into oblivion. She had no doubt that if she removed her clothes her rest of the body will be in the same condition or maybe worse. But the most prominent site was her mate mark. It was Grayson’s huge Grey wolf curled around the side of her neck with the most beautiful yellow eyes. His tail curled around himself and under his tail were the words G and M; together beyond infinity. She was mesmerized and was so lost in her thoughts that she did not notice that Grayson came back inside the cave after hearing Michelle shuffling around and was looking at her, with his eyes full of shame and pleading for her not to reject him.

Grayson finally had enough speculation about what his mate would say to him so, he decided to take matters into his own hands and fell on his knees with his heads bowed down. A strong Beta like himself has never submitted to anyone except his Alpha. But here he was on his knees with his head bowed down asking for his mate to forgive him and give him another chance to prove that he is not a mindless beast. He can be a loving, caring, and romantic mate. He promised that he would do the things right way if she decided to give him another chance. He would give her the whole world and his life to protect her. Michelle tried to stop Grayson’s rambling by calling his name multiple times, but he was so lost in guilt that he was not paying attention to Michelle.

Michelle bent down to Grayson’s level and hugged him tightly and pressed her lips on his cheeks. Once she realised that Grayson has calmed down, she decided to pull away from the hug, but Grayson wrapped his arms tightly around her to stop her. Michelle realized that her mate needed the comfort, so she decided to stay in the same position even though it was awfully uncomfortable for her sore body. After few minutes Michelle spoke, bringing Grayson out of his thoughts.

This is not how I imagined my first time to be, but that does not mean I regret it or condemn you for what happened last night. I understand that we were both lost in our haze and were uncontrolled in our behaviour but that does not make our mating any less special. Grayson anytime spent with you is special. Even if we spend in quite and lost in our thoughts, as long as it is with you it is special, Michelle told Grayson.

But I was so wild, I did not care that you were a virgin I broke through your hymen like a mad man instead of being gentle and patient. Grayson counters her statement with his own argument. To which Michelle replied that she did not mind. Whether you were patient or not it would have hurt. So, instead of prolonging it we just got over it in one swift moment. They both laughed slightly at her statement.

But Grayson was still worried looking at her bruised face and neck. Which Michelle understood and quickly muttered a spell to heal her body and remove any bruises. Even though witches were supernatural beings too, but they did not have any beast residing in them to accelerate their healing process. They had to do so by spells and potions.

After Michelle removed all the bruises, hickeys and bite marks from her body, they discussed ways to hide the mating mark for now until they decide how they are going to discuss about their mating with their families, pack and coven. Michelle decided to hide the mating marks by using spells and some herbs to hide the change in her scent. The nest topic of discussion between the newly mated couple was the possibility of a pregnancy. Michelle did not want to take any herbs to prevent her pregnancy. She told Grayson that if she ends up getting pregnant, they will find the solution accordingly at that time.

After everything was discussed, they decided to go to their respective homes for now. As Michelle’s parents and coven will be waking up now and Grayson also had meeting with his Alpha.

Grayson reached home in his wolf form and quickly took a quick bath and small breakfast and ran towards the Alpha’s office. Upon entering his Alpha Dominic’s office, he found out that his Alpha is not in his office, as it was still early morning Grayson knew that he must be in training grounds.

Grayson reached training grounds in a couple of minutes and found Alpha Dominic training with the war wolves. Grayson tried to read emotions from Alpha Dominic but the bond with the Alpha was as devoid of any sign of emotions as was the Alpha’s face. Grayson would be lying if he said that he was not scared but he knew that for now he must concentrate on training, Grayson realised that his task today is to train with the guard wolves as Alpha Dominic is training with the war wolves. He quickly took off his t-shirt and joined the guard wolves. After two hours of training Alpha Dominic called it a day and called Grayson to follow him to his office. After reaching the office Alpha Dominic bombarded Beta Grayson with question after question.

 Beta Grayson narrated the incidents of the previous night, hiding the fact about the potion he took to prevent going into heat. As an alpha, Alpha Dominic was furious. One for missing out on the hunt and two for Grayson to lose control of his wolf and give into his instincts. Alpha Dominic told Grayson that he is a strong beta and should have better control on his wolf.

But as Grayson’s best friend he told him that he understands why he missed the hunt, and he understands the effects the full moon can have on werewolves. So, he forgave his beta for his first and last transgression. After that they got busy with their usual tasks of running their pack and family businesses.

The day went by painfully slowly for Grayson. He just wanted to go home and talk to Michelle on the phone. They were not going to see each other today as Michelle told Grayson that she was getting weird looks from her coven members today and does not want anyone to suspect anything. So, its better to stay away from each other for a little while and talk only on the phone.

They decided to meet nest weekend as it was still Tuesday and that gives plenty of time to cool whatever is going on with Michelle’s coven members down. Grayson’s wolf was agitated knowing that he will not be seeing his mate for one and a half week. The emotions were all time high as they were newly mated and needed to be close to each other for a few days for the bond to settle down. But, such close proximity was not in the cards for them for now. So, they settled on phone calls.

Soon, the weekend arrived, and Grayson met Michelle at the edge of his town at 10 in the morning. He had plans to show his mate that how important she is to him and he was going to show her through the most amazing date that he has planned.

He brought a bouquet of cala lilies for Michelle as they were one of her favourite flowers beside sunflowers. He also brought a gold chain for her that had a wolf wrapped around a locket protectively and the locket opened showing Michelle’s picture in it. Grayson told Michelle that the wolf is Grayson’s wolf. Grayson told Michelle that she is the most important person in their life, and they will happily sacrifice their life for her safety and will protect from all and every harm coming her way.

This brought tears of happiness in Michelle’s eyes. After that they drove two towns over to a carnival as Michelle had never been to a carnival before. They enjoyed street foods and different rides there. Michelle really liked corned dogs and apple candy. They had burgers and fries as lunch at a small eating joint at the carnival. After having lunch, they decided to play some games there. Grayson played basketball and balloons and darts to win prizes for Michelle. He mainly played ring the bell, rope ladders climb, and cross bow shoot. Which he mostly won. Altogether, they had a blast. Whenever Grayson missed the balloons he will pout like a baby and Michelle will laugh so hard. Seeing his mate laughing encouraged Grayson to lose more often so that he will get to hear more of the beautiful laughter coming from his mate.

Soon, it was evening and time for their reservation at the best restaurant in the town. Grayson wanted to have a fancy date with his mate. Grayson ordered Cinnamon-Apple pork Chops with a side of vegetables and Michelle ordered Cuban Picadillo. They decided to share hot chocolate cake slice for dessert as they stomachs were full. After paying for dinners Grayson took her for private viewing of Les Misérables, Michelle’s favourite musical drama.

When their date ended at 9pm in the evening Michelle had the biggest smile on her face and made Grayson and his beast to beam with pride. Grayson drove Michelle outside their coven territory and went back home after seeing her enter her borders. He told her to send him a text when she is safe in her room.

He received text message from Michelle after waiting for 10 minutes, he decided to drive away from Michelle’s coven grounds after that. He reached his own pack house soon after. He took a quick hot shower, dressed up in shorts and decided to call it a night. He sent a quick good night message to Michelle and fell in deep slumber.
