She stood between the trees, far away from the graveyard where they were burying her body and watched with tearful eyes as her father wrapped his arms tightly around her mother who was crying hysterically for her only daughter, her strong and powerful brothers who have never cried in their lives beside themselves with the grief of losing their only sister. No matter how much her eyes filled with tears she will never let them fall as she had cried enough.
Her eyes wandered to the makeshift stage where her photo laid in the middle. She remembered the day that photo was taken. It was the day of her mating ceremony. She looked so beautiful and happy in that photograph, why would not she be happy, Goddess had blessed her with two beautiful and powerful mates. She was so excited to start a new chapter in her life. She could not help but scoff at the memory. How naïve and innocent she had been at the time. She thought her mates would love and cherish her as her father did her mother. But reality was so far from her dreams and expectations. With that thought her eyes fleeted towards her mates who stood there, with grief-stricken faces but only she knew the truth behind those faces, she was the only one who knew that the things were not as they seemed. Then her eyes landed on her son holding hands with both his fathers, tears sliding down his chubby cheeks and her heart clenched in her chest. She knew that her son is the only one who is hurting the most in this whole situation. She knew her death had broken her son’s fragile heart. And this time, no matter how hard she tried but she could not stop the tears from sliding down her own cheeks. But she promised herself that she will never leave her son to his own devices. Even in her death she will always be there for him and watch over him, guiding him to be the best version of himself. She will turn the whole world upside down but will not leave her son’s side. With that promise to herself she left them all alone and walked away, for now……..
