On the seventh day with no power, the water stops working. The only good news is that the freezing rain has stopped, but the temperature has cooled and the world is covered in a sheet of ice. I look around worriedly, my stomach twisting into knots. “Logan, we’re in trouble. Water, there’s no more water.” Logan waves a hand towards the pots where I’ve been keeping some water, the stuff we’ve stockpiled for a few days now. “We’ll be okay.
