CHAPTER 3

MY GUARDIAN

"What happens if I find her? How do I break my curse?"

POV(KAIA)

I panted heavily, frozen in fear, my pupils dilate as his body began to shift and contort. His limbs elongated, his eyes turned red, and his body covered in fur.

At first, I thought he was turning into a dog. I mean, who turns into a wolf in this century, right? But then I took a better look and I realized that this was no dog. This was a wolf a big scary looking wolf.

"Oh, great," I cursed under my breath. "Just what I needed. A werewolf trying to kill me. This is definitely a dream."

"This is insane."

I took a step back, wondering if I should wait and let it kill me, after all pains in dreams are not real. "This is a dream, it's not real. Nothing is happening. I just have to wake up from shock."

He took a step back as if trying to retreat but then, in a swift moment. He charges at me, jumps in the air to pounce on me.

I heard myself mutter "oh fuck." Before it landed but it shredded into pieces and It was just a splatter of blood and flesh on my face.

I screamed in horror as I tried to wipe the mucky liquid on my face.

My gaze shifted to the force that might've helped me just now and my heart skipped a beat. Just another strange looking man standing in the dark alley way.

He had , long shiny, sharp bloody claws.

I couldn't tell if he was just one of the people looking for me but then I felt something, like a whisper in my ear. "_the moon will guide you to him_"

He turned and started to walk away, is he my guardian? I had no idea but I knew I'd be dead meat if I don't follow this stranger.

I sprang up and started following him, he didn't stop walking or turn to look at me. If he helped me, he should at least ask me if I'm okay but he didn't.

If this is a dream, I don't care. I don't want to die a gruesome death, but this feels realer than ever.

He suddenly stopped and I heard a silent growl as if to scare me off but I had to know if he was my guardian or if he could help me find my guardian.

"What do you want?" His voice sent shivers down my spine and I wanted him to at least turn to me so I could get a better look at him.

"You saved me back there, so I just wanted to say thank you. Those people aren't ordinary people, I know you're not ordinary too but if you could just help me find my parent then-" he started walking before I could complete what I was saying but I wasn't backing off easily so I ran after him.

"I know you probably think I'm wierd but that thing you killed back there was not a dog, it was a wolf-" I paused to get any reaction from him but he didn't stop.

"It was a freaking wolf, a mother f*****g wolf. It almost killed me back there and you saved me, I can assure you that I'm not a lunatic and I think this is not a drea-" He stopped and I paused.

"Listen Woman, I"

"Kaia," I interrupted. "my name is Kaia. It's pronounced KAIYA, a lot of people get it wrong but-"

"Kayee or whatever your name is, I didn't save you back there. I was just doing my job, that thing back there? I'm just like that, I can turn into that thing and tear you to shreds. Just pretend you never saw what happened and move on with your life, so stop following me!" He yelled, his voice echoing down the alleyway.

He turned and started to walk away then I fell to the ground.

"This isn't my life! everything was normal until yesterday! If it wasn't for this damnn moon Tattoo! If only I didn't have to find that damnn! Guardian! And now I finally find someone that can help me and you want me to back-"

He turns abruptly and pins me to the wall, rain starts to drizzle and pour endlessly without warning.

His grip tightened as he choked me and I struggle to breathe. I didn't know what was happening,I could finally see a little bit of his face, only the upper part.

His eyes had turned red and he started to make growling sounds.

"It's you! Elyxi!" I struggled to breathe as he said those words, I remembered the man from the coffee shop calling that exact name.

"You made me like this! You curs-" his grip lessened a little as the sky rumbled, a thunderstorm. This veins on his face becomes visible and his face lit up like burning coal.

I finally pushed him away and panted heavily, he also fell to the ground weakly. Gaggling as he spits out blood from his mouth.

"Are you okay?" I managed to say but he seemed to be out of breath.

I tried to move closer to him but another thunderstorm comes through the alleyway, striking his chest.

The moon turned red, the rain pouring heavily.

His limbs elongated and shrunk back, like he was turning into a wolf like the guy from back there but his came with great difficulty. He tossed and turned on the ground, making uncomfortable noises and growls as he struggles to breathe.

His body started to fill with layers of furs and he was now in half wolf form. On all fours and slowly transformed into a dog like shape but he was very big, bigger than the other guy.

He still struggled to walk as he comes towards me. He falls to the ground and gets back up again, he seemed to be in too much agony as he struggled to get to me.

whimpering like a cold kitten, he collapsed into my laps and a howl escapes his lips before passing out.
